This guy just happened to be on a Trivial Pursuit card I was reading.
Apparently he was one of the greatest Russian composers.

oh, the card says moussorgsky, but I see its mussorgsky.
I thought it was humorous
and might have something to do with Modest Mouse...

maurice ravel's orchestration of mussorgsky's "pictures at an exhibition" is probably one of the most recognizable pieces of classical music ever written. you'd know it if you heard it, believe me.
