Does anyone here watch this show? I love it. I haven't been this hooked on a show in as long as I can remember.
I think part of the reason I like it so much is because of the sheer wierdness of it all, and the fact that many of the character's reactions are much more realistic than in other television shows; i.e. people often act out-of-character, or display weaknesses or dependencies. I know people who are like characters from this show in real life. (Although I'm not fortunate enough to know two hot-ass potential lesbians like Mena Suvari and Lauren Ambrose.)
Anybody else find this show as addictive-like-a-smack-habit as I do? |

I only saw her in Six Feet Under, but she struck me as very energetic there. |

I keep thinking about her. It's like she was cheated out of her life. I almost wish I didn't know about her, but then I also feel guilty for having gone about my affairs these past three years without knowing of her fate. Strange. She deserved more.

Today I'm watching, well, monitoring while surfing, the Six Feet Under re-run marathon on Bravo. I was feeling the hots for the actress playing the prostitute friend of Brenda, Nate's girlfriend. It is a soap, isn't it? Anyway, so I do some research, knowing I've seen her a few times before, and learn the actress's name is Kellie Waymire. But then I learn she died a little over three years ago of cardiac arrhythmia, not so long after her recurring role on Six Feet. Bums me out. She was thirty-six. So sexy, smart, and talented. But gone. Really brings home the show's theme.

Best television in years, since Twin Peaks and the early X Files perhaps. It can be uncomfortable to watch, especially when characters are embarassed. The Mom and David characters, though undergoing rapid personal evolution, can be so hung up at times that I can barely stand to share their discomfort. Plus the brother Billy stuff can be rough. Does anybody know how long Bravo will take to air the 63 episodes? Here in the US we're getting two episodes every Monday night, I think, plus some repeats elsewhere during the week. At that rate we'd get the whole thing in less than a year, obviously.

i remembered this thread and am typing without reading it. my wife and i have watched the entire series over the last 6 weeks and have the series finale to watch tonight or tomorrow. it's a great show. interesting how the characters take turns annoying the shit out of the viewer.

I was somewhat disappointed with this week's episode...not just because the Claire/Edie scene was a little...um...lackluster, I guess...I rather expected them to not make a big deal out of that. But, the episode just didn't work for me until about halfway through. It picked up a little steam, but it had nowhere near the effect that the previous episode "Terror Starts at Home" had. The acting at first seemed a little stilted, and I couldn't garner up much compassion or sympathy for their problems this week (David's previous close call with the psycho; Nate and Brenda's indecision about where to take their love lives, etc...)
And, I thought that Nate seeing his dead wife's ghost and her being so INDECISIVE was kind of silly. (Of course, dismissing the fact that he sees images of his dead wife in the first place...) Maybe he's just going insane..?
Oh well. It was the first episode of the show I've seen that I didn't totally love, but it was still about ten times better than most of the other crap that's on TV these days.

It is a great show. I missed alot of the first season, but have seen two on up. The craziest episode had to be when Billy to Brenda he was in love with her. What kind of crazy shit was that. And two weeks ago when David was kidnapped, the one came out of left feild. I wasn't expecting that at all. I guess the big question is if and when will Clare will "experiment."

SFU is great, probably on a par with Sopranos & Band of Brothers as the best HBO series..... in general I find US programs a load of rubbish, but HBO is very very good.
I have got the first two series on DVD but have only just started watching the second season.... the first season was amazing. How many seasons are there in all??

heh - i tried bringing this up a few times...glad to see some people are getting into it.
The show is wild..i thought last season kinda sucked, and the first few eps did this season, but the last two, holy mcshitlettes..very intense.
The show is quite realistic, which is a nice change from the predicable pablum we usually see.. Let's hope it holds up!
(I *hate* how they made the 'vegan' a total flake, who kills herself..gaaah!)

I fucking love this show. I absoloutely love it.
The whole atmosphere of it, the lighting and editing and camera angles used fasciante me (sorry, me being a geeky media student)
I love the fact, as you said, that they all have weaknesses. I love the fact that you can relate to any one of them at any time. I love the fact that when someone does something wierd, everyone looks at them as if they are weird, not jut ignore it. ahh, i love this show!

I watched the first episode way back in the day. I remember the daughter being on speed when she found out her dad died. Didn't he die while lighting a cigarette in a car?
And I remember the son getting down at the airport with the random girl. I bet she became a regular part of the show.
I remember liking the show. It was an interesting concept, a family of morticians. But I never saw another episode.
