Posted - 07/20/2004 : 08:49:26 Clinton Aide Investigated on Terror Memos July 20, 2004 By JOHN SOLOMON
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=533&u=/ap/20040720/ap_on_re_us/sept__11_berger_probe&printer=1
WASHINGTON (AP) - Sandy Berger, former President Clinton (news - web sites)'s national security adviser, is under criminal investigation by the Justice Department (news - web sites) after highly classified terrorism documents disappeared while he was reviewing what should be turned over to the Sept. 11 commission.
Berger's home and office were searched earlier this year by FBI (news - web sites) agents armed with warrants after the former Clinton adviser voluntarily returned some sensitive documents to the National Archives and admitted he also removed handwritten notes he had made while reviewing the sensitive documents.
However, some drafts of a sensitive after-action report on the Clinton administration's handling of al-Qaida terror threats during the December 1999 millennium celebration are still missing, officials and lawyers told The Associated Press.
Al Felzenberg, spokesman for the Sept. 11 commission, said Tuesday the Berger investigation will not impact the panel's work in any way. The 10-member bipartisan panel releases its final report on Thursday.
"This is a matter between the government and an individual," he said. "They were not our documents, and we believe we have access to all the materials we need to see to do our report."
Berger and his lawyer said Monday night he knowingly removed the handwritten notes by placing them in his jacket and pants, and also inadvertently took copies of actual classified documents in a leather portfolio.
"I deeply regret the sloppiness involved, but I had no intention of withholding documents from the commission, and to the contrary, to my knowledge, every document requested by the commission from the Clinton administration was produced," Berger said in a statement to the AP. [snip, link to read further]
Notice the Clintonista "depends on what the meaning of 'is' is" construction of: "every document requested by the commission from the Clinton administration was produced"
So what about the incriminating documents the commission hasn't "requested"? What, Mr. Berger, are you hiding that the commission doesn't yet realize would incriminate your lying, stealing, Dem ass? Once again invoking that decade old question: Who would hang out in the gutter with a rats like the Clintons? Answer: Only other rats.

Huh?
No one is forcing you to read or remotely give a shit about this stuff. I mean, yeah, there have been an excessive amount of political threads...but it doesn't mean you have to even give them a second glance. I think it's healthy that people are talking about it and getting things out of their system about their country's flaws. No one has said, "The United States is the best country on the fucking planet! No other country matters at all." If anyone has...well, they're douchebags.
There have been political threads about Canada, about France, and I'm sure somewhere along the line about England. Every country's politics are bullshit. Aren't you glad that we actually care and that most of us want this country shaved from the waist down? (No more bush. *bu dum ching!*)
I guess I just don't understand your anger towards, what it seems, the Americans of the forum. And I'm rambling and rambling and I'll stop now. haha..
Ah, and here's a song you'd like:

Posted - 07/28/2004 : 15:43:38 Erebus, I say keep posting all you want. And people who disagree with you should post all they want too. It's interesting to have opposing points of view on here. People should be able to discuss politics without all the personal insults flying around. It's amazing how politics inspires such hatred of the other party. And people should stop thinking that they are on the "intelligent" side. People form their political opinions with their emotions, and then defend their position with their intellects. It seems obvious that there are brillant people on both sides, and morons on both sides too. I can't say anything I've read here has made any great changes in my opinions, but perhaps have they made some small changes in how I look at things, which is good. If we want to be intellectually honest with ourselves, we need to examine and reexamine our beliefs constantly. Because once we stop doing that, we stop growing. (I'm sorry if this sounds like I'm preaching. I'd just like to see more political discussion and less bad-mouthing here.) |

i hate to break it to you but when you think you're being civillized and respectful you are being incredibly childish.
my replies to you come from the stupidity that is contained in your original posts. if you were really being civillized, mature and respectful in your posts i wouldn't reply at all i'd just ignore you. but you are being a typical rush limbaugh loving retard and posting childish, often naive, bullshit.
i repeat, take your bullshit elsewhere. it is unwanted. this is not the place for it. it is a waste of everyone's time. you aren't going to convince anyone of your point of view.
there are plenty more appropriate places for you to take this shit. why do you have to keep cluttering up fb.net's general chat with it? the discussion has been done. the lack of responses should tell you nobody's interested in what you have to say.
edit: actually i should say what the right-wing morons you quote have to say because that's all you do. you can't even be buggered to write something of your own. |

(2004-07-21) -- Former Clinton national security advisor Samuel R. "Sandy" Berger today returned the orginal copy of the U.S. Constitution to the National Archives.
"It was an honest mistake," said Mr. Berger, who until this morning was an advisor to Democrat presidential hopeful John Forbes Kerry. "I accidentally wrapped the Constitution around my left leg and mistakenly secured it with rubber bands."
A spokesman for the National Archives said he was pleased to have the Constitution back.
"Until Mr. Berger returned it," said the source, "our prime suspects were all in the federal judiciary."

Secondly, fuck Ronstadt. The moron probably sees this as a positive career move. She and Moore deserve on another, and the Bush haters deserve to throw their money at both of them. The more divided this country gets, the brighter the future looks.

Casino Boots Ronstadt for Praising Moore Las Vegas Casino Boots Linda Ronstadt After She Praises Michael Moore's 'Fahrenheit 9/11'
The Associated Press
LAS VEGAS July 19, 2004 — Singer Linda Ronstadt not only got booed, she got the boot after praising filmmaker Michael Moore and his new movie "Fahrenheit 9/11" during a performance. Before singing "Desperado" for an encore Saturday night, Ronstadt called Moore a "great American patriot" and "someone who is spreading the truth." She also encouraged the audience at the Aladdin hotel-casino to see the documentary about President Bush.
Ronstadt's comments drew loud boos, and some of the 4,500 people in attendance stormed out of the theater. People also tore down concert posters and tossed cocktails into the air.
"It was a very ugly scene," Aladdin President Bill Timmins told The Associated Press. "She praised him and all of a sudden all bedlam broke loose."
Timmins, who is British and was watching the show, said he didn't allow Ronstadt back in her luxury suite afterward and she was escorted off the property.
Ronstadt's antics "spoiled a wonderful evening for our guests and we had to do something about it," Timmins said.
Ronstadt, 58, had been booked to play the Aladdin for only one show.
On Monday, Moore released a letter to The Associated Press that he intends to send to Timmins.
"For you to throw Linda Ronstadt off the premises because she dared to say a few words in support of me and my film, is simply stupid and Un-American," Moore wrote.
Calls to Ronstadt's manager were not immediately returned.
In an interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal before the show, Ronstadt said, "I keep hoping that if I'm annoying enough to them, they won't hire me back."
Timmins said Ronstadt would not sing at the Aladdin again: "As long as I'm here, she's not going to play."
Moore said Timmins owes Ronstadt an apology.
"I have an idea how you can make it up to her and to the millions of Americans you have offended," Moore wrote. "Invite her back and I'll join her in singing 'America the Beautiful' on your stage. Then I will show 'Fahrenheit 9/11' free of charge to all your guests and anyone else in Las Vegas who wants to see it."
