What are wilco like live?
I am going to see them live tonite cause my brother-in-law has a spare ticket, but I have never heard anything more than 1 song by them.

Am I going to enjoy myself or will I have to drown my sorrows with copious amounts of overpriced beer?

Awesome Benji!

Glad you liked them and fun and stuff.

I've yet to really hear them, but my great friend saw them at Bonnarroo the other day, he likes them A LOT!

I guess they are alt. country if you were to label them?

I'm looking forward to becoming familiar and listening to them...

they sound cool and people that have similar tastes (and not so similar) seem to really enjoy Wilco...

Can't wait to hear it!

well i enjoyed the show last night.
even if we did miss the first 25mins.
we arrived there at 8.40 after a few pints to find they'd started at 8.15!!!!
i didn't really mind cause i'm not a fan, but oh well.

but yeah, they were really good.
i prefered the longer songs when they went into pure noise interludes - i love that stuff.

didn't realise til the end that nels cline is in the band, and man he's cool.
looks and acts like rich gilbert.

but it was all very nice - mr tweedy has rather a nice voice...
i was also very impressed by both the audeince and the sound at the astoria.
i was right at the back leaning against the bar and no-one talked at all and the sound was as clear as a bell and very well defined...dont remember it being that good at the catholics gig last year.

was suprised that the audience was 99% male with a fair preportion appearing to be couples...
is that Wilco's main audience?

Wilco played a great show when I saw them. They had a lot of energy and did 2 encores. The show as a whole lasted at least 2 hours and there wasn't a dull moment. When they play live, they are a lot more into dwindling off into crazy instrumentals, and I imagine that since there is plenty of that on the new album, you're in for a good time, if'n's ya dig that kinda stuff I wouldn't really say that Wilco's show is something you'd want to be drunk for, more like stoned music. It'd probably help you to listen to some of their music if you can before you go, just so you get acquainted with a few songs. If you can find a copy of Yankee Hotel Foxtrot or A Ghost Is Born, they'll probably be playing a lot from those records. Of course, those records take a few spins before you can really start to grasp the material.

They're not sounding like Wilco at all yes but there's that vibe........

Hey we agree on Beulah being great, we don't agree on Wilco. Ah well.

I betcha Benji is swooning before Mr Tweedy right now.

i don't accept the comparsion, at all! seriously, Beulah sounds nothing like Wilco. and i've heard Summerteeth. how could you insult my boys like that? (i am glad you're digging them though)

Floop this might irk you some but that first Beulah album has this very cool Summerteeth like vibe going.

Wilco has many a good song to make the show worth your while Benji.

Enjoy.

beer may make them sound worse, beware.
