A quick question... my brother is well into his gear, but has recently switched to eating it as opposed to smoking it (for obvious health reasons). He eats a little everyday, usually after he has finished work and has nothing to do with the rest of his evening.

Do you think that eating a little gear cake at the end of the day and on a daily basis is damaging to your health?? My older brother seems to think that eating everyday will be detrimental to his liver, as although he eats a little cake, it has the same effect, or is maybe stronger than smoking it. Other people I have chatted to seem to think that the only detrimental effect will be psychological.

Whats your opinions, I'd be interested to know what you guys think?

Wow, this post has been brought back after so many years... I don't eat so much of it anymore. Back then I was eating it everyday and the wife wasn't best pleased as she'd come home and I'd be laid out of the couch unable to speak or make conversation.

Gonna be heading to Werchter festival in a little over 2 months time so I'll be sure to make some then!!

yeah pot can really really enlightening but it mostly just make me crazy... you know, I get all these thoughts about reality: the air we breath, the gravity, the fact I have a body full of blood... death, the universe and all that... stuff I try not to think of usually.

I have no idea what a gear cake is, but it can't be worse than smoking! Smoking is really, really bad for you... I'm sure that eating a gear cake thing isn't consider "a healthy" thing to do, but rather a hedonistic pleasure. Hey, whatever makes him happy. He should quit it altogether but, you know how all that goes...

I smoke 3 packs a day at the moment...

I'm trying to quit.

See you later Staurt! I missed your postings!

Hey LBF, cheers for the post. It's nice for people to be welcoming after not posting for a while....

Here is some info I found... in fact most places say that eating it is harmless.... Hmmm..... surely something which gets you really fucked up can't be that good for you???

The DEA's Administrative Law Judge, Francis Young concluded: "In strict medical terms marijuana is far safer than many foods we commonly consume. For example, eating 10 raw potatoes can result in a toxic response. By comparison, it is physically impossible to eat enough marijuana to induce death. Marijuana in its natural form is one of the safest therapeutically active substances known to man. By any measure of rational analysis marijuana can be safely used within the supervised routine of medical care."

"gear" used to mean heroin, and still does in my group of friends, not that were into "gear" or "gear" for that matter. in fact "gear" got it's name beause it requires special equipment (needles, spoon, lighter, tinfoil and rubber arm vein cincher thingy).

"chicken pot, chicken pot, chicken pot piiiieeeee!"

There's equipment.
pack of rollies, shotglass, scissors, pieces of cardboard...

I used to enjoy eating it more than smoking it. I don't smoke anyway so it was always really gross. It's a much mellower high if you eat rather than smoke.

It's very dumb that "gear" is not legal. Let the people who want to do it, do it. Alcohol is 1000x worse.

As far as I'm aware (and I consider myself pretty well versed on the subject) there are no detrimental health effects from ingestion....so health-wise yes, eating is better than smoking.

I figured you meant crack. That's the second biggest craze in the nation... after lamination.

I, too, am unfamiliar with the slang term "gear," assuming it's slang.

My gear is too full of metal, circuit boards, vacuum tubes and wiring to not have a detrimental physical effect when eaten. It has been known to smoke at times, though. ;)

(nice to see you again Stuart!)
