Yeah Bill Odenkirk wrote for Futurama he's on quite a few of the commentaries on the DVDs, he seems like a pretty talented guy as well. Off hand the one that I can remember he wrote was the second season X-Mas episode.

Bob's brother however was a producer/writer on Futurama. A majority of his episodes are great.

If I ever saw David Cross I would never do something so stupid, unless I was hammered, I might however ask him if he could explain the sidewalking thing so as not to disturb the surface area of the earth (an especially funny fake news report thing from Mr. Show). ;)

Odenkirk is great at what he does. "Melvin Goes To Dinner" was an outstanding film for being his feature debut as a director. I presented the Georgia premiere of that movie as part of an underground film series I run in Savannah, and most everyone who showed up dug it.

Cross is very interesting as well. A friend of mine is in the Upright Citizens Brigade and have had a number of good experience hanging with Cross, Odenkirk, Posehn and Patton Oswalt.

David Cross and I met a couple of times while he was on tour and got along real well. He's a great guy to sit around and riff with while mildly intoxicated, but he does have a serious "mean streak." It's not so much meanness as it is a finely tuned hatred of people who think because they've seen his shows or heard his albums that they know him well enough to try and relate to him.

I watched several people make complete annoying jackasses out of themselves in his presence out of some misguided sense of simpatico, and he told me that he's been getting that almost every day of his loife for the past 5 or 6 years.

I enjoy most of his stuff so much that I had a hard time not acidentally crossing that line myself (it's so tempting to try and dazzle him with shared experiences in the hopes he'll want to be your best friend forever and call you up and shit like that).

That's mostly because his stage demeanor is so dependent on seeming like you're just shooting the shit with him in your parents' basement. But you're not. And he's not.

Oh, yeah... AND HE'S REALLY FUCKING SICK OF THAT CHICKEN POT PIE THING. He said he would give anything to travel back in time and stop himself from putting that in the show.

Everyone yells it at him on the street, like the way people recognize Barry Bostwick as Brad from Rocky Horror and yell "asshole!" at him in public.

hahahahahahahahaha

Definately not....I think that SNL getting funny again happened to coincide with the years he was writing...and I do think that the rest of the cast are also great....especially Tom Kenny.

Bob is very under appreciated. He was great on the Ben Stiller show and he wrote for Saturday Night Live, Dennis Miller, Get a Life and a lot of Tenacious D. Just the other day I was telling a friend how he was my favorite half of Mr. Show and that I am growing very tired of David Cross. Did anyone see Melvin Goes to Dinner the film he directed?

You know, if you watched Space Ghost: Coast to Coast you would know that it's spelled "Ba Bodenkirk". And you call yourself a fan.

Yeah I think I remember that all of them have had plenty of little spots in various sitcoms and always outshined the normal cast. Even when they were on Newsradio.

Dont forget the Ben Stiller show
WolfManMikeLonely Posted - 07/11/2004 : 16:15:39
David does get a lot more attention and honestly I'm getting a bit tired of him so insanely political. There are great parts on the new David Cross album but I can't help but imagine I'd enjoy more stuff about music and random things like the "answer your phone" bit on the Shut Up You Fucking Baby album. Still everyone one Mr. Show seems pretty damn talented. A few of them have been appearing quite a bit on the commentary shows VH1 runs and are usually the best commentators, I especially like Brian Posehn. Anyone get the feeling that the fads are going from talk shows to reality shows to this commentary show thing, just less and less effort really. Sorry I'm derailing quite a bit. Viva Bob Odenkirk!

I agree with WolfMan here, although I do think David Cross tends to get a lot more attention nowadays.

I think you could say that about almost everyone that was involved in Mr. Show, but it doesn't make it any less true.
