i am held hostage by small packets of pain against my will, as verizon will not allow anyone to delete a message without hearing every dripping word!

Sprint POS...ooops, Sprint PCS does the same, I think. I had to get a new non-Motorola phone to get decent calls.

i have to press 3-3-7 or 3-3-9 depending on whetther i want to save or delete at the end.

It may be your phone. For me I press 7 and the it says "Message Deleted. Next Message." I used to think that you had to wait until she asked you what your options were to push, but nope, just have to press 7. It used to annoy the hell out of me, too.

I use Verizon. I just press 7 at the very beginning and it deletes it and goes onto the next one...
