We're looking for some cool bands to do shows with next month in the aforementioned cities, and I thought to myself, "What better place to seek out some bands than FB.Net?"

So, any cool local bands to recommend in any of those cities?

Here's what I've got for Edmonton:

Por-nada (http://www.por-nada.com)
Fractal Pattern (http://www.fractalpattern.com)
Blue Room (http://www.ablueroom.com) - I haven't heard these guys, but their site's cool.

Has anyone heard/seen Our Mercury? Any impressions? Carolyn recommends them highly, but she's a little biased. :)

From Regina, there's Despistado, and from Calgary, ??

I'm also willing to bet this topic gets zero replies and sinks to archival oblivion. I don't know that there are any regular posters from Regina or Calgary, and I've not seen Crispy around for some time...

I will... I can't guarantee anything though.
Do you prefer your support bands epic-post-rock or indie-soul-rock?

Kind regards,
Simon

Ask if they're willing to fly to New Edmonton for a show. :)

You want recommendations from Camden Town, Home Of Britpop? You crazy!

I can highly recommend Marwood, and Willow are ace too. They don't have websites, we're not all as flash as you lot.

Kind regards,
Simon

I live near Edmonton, actually. Its not very nice, like a slightly less grim Tottenham. They have a nice market there, but little else. I'd steer clear and venture down to Islington or Camden instead.

Kind regards,

That's OK. Canada's hard to miss, all tucked away over there. :)
