My roommate has a girlfriend who has got to be one of the touchiest (though not preachiest) feminists of all-time. She can't even get it when misogony is being mocked. Really, the mention of anything anti-ultra liberal PC seems to bother her, and her friends, too. If the existence of anything not held in these girls' beliefs is mentioned, it's not credible and should not be acknowledged. It seems backwards to me. So just because someone was raised with different beliefs, they're a horrible human? That's how these girls seem to think. It's the same way of thinking as the non-liberals (who these girls hate) not liking homosexuals because they're different. Is everyone just against everyone? Is there really any right way of thinking? Should your side of things be so extreme and blind that you discredit EVERYTHING and EVERYONE on the other side. Eh, this rant is pretty blind, too, I'm sure, but I'm just tired of everything I say being put on a scale by these girls.

My hamster ate a feminist!

I think this is my 1700th post. Or else I've already passed that. Either way, I thought I should acknowledge that.

EDIT: It's actually number 1701.

Oh dear. First wave feminists are no fun--they tend to be overbearing and humorless. Give them a few years and they'll mellow out.

That kind of thing bothers me, too. There's such a thing as sarcasm. Maybe this girl should invest in a sarcasm detector.

Exactly, VoVat.

So none of the women were potential rapists?

I agree with what you're saying TarTar. Anybody that is bigoted is doing themselves and the people they are in disagreement with a huge disservice. No one group has a monopoly on being close-minded.

I wish I could add more to the debate. I sure hate to see so many misguided people who think they are informed and open-minded though. I guess it is easier to see things in black and white.

To paraphrase R. Anton Wilson: "There's always an asshole in the room. Beware of the times you can't figure out who it is, because it is probably you."

Oh, I'm not being anti-feminist either, so you know!

But now I've thought of a horrible but funny line from a rather dumb movie, How High.

"How did I fail women's studies? I LOVE bitches!"

Edit - It's finding things like that funny which isn't helping me with the feminazis, though actually, they like me a lot. But I've made a few comments or jokes here and there that they just take SO seriously. It's their attitude towards others that I have beef with.

PS - I'm not being anti-liberal. I still agree with that viewpoint even though I try to be fairly anti-political. But I'm still on the liberal side. It's just that anything that's SO absolute to a degree that you shun any and everything that's outside of that... well, it just seems stupid.
