My first REAL holidays since 2002: 2 weeks. I'll visit Normandie and Bretagne the first week and go in my birth place, in Montpellier, by the mediterranean sea.
When I think about some friends, some have 8 weeks per year, others 14 (teachers). With my little 5 weeks, I feel like a slave, and my boss didn't want to let me have a third one, too much work.

Posted - 07/05/2004 : 05:09:15 This year I will be working 14 hours a day + almost every weekend, and I will probably get only one week for Christmas, if I'm very lucky. I am a workaholic. |

Posted - 07/01/2004 : 11:21:06 Most vacation days for us consist of getting chores, home maintenance, and yardwork done, or visiting our families (3 of them) and sometimes friends, in Kentucky for a 3-4 day weekend or so. Or family reunions. Or emergency health problems. Or looking for a job, or a car, or getting the roof fixed....
I can't remember the last time we had a real vacation. My husband gets 3 weeks now, and it's dissipated by the time the winter holidays (Xmas, et al) come around. Family obligations suck pretty hard, but you gotta love 'em. Kurt Vonnegut's term applies: famdambly.

Well, my parents won't be here so I'll keep their house for one week: BBQ, swimming pool and a garden. I will makes some changes regarding the small parisian flat I live in. |

Posted - 07/01/2004 : 09:17:23 Aaaah, Montpellier - one of my favorite cities. Well-placed. So cool and friendly. Much more than mine anyway.
I have 38 vacation days (25 + 13 RTT) per year - thanks to you I feel lucky now.
If it can comfort you, most of my American friends work at least 350 days a year...
