Welcome to the official tattoo thread! I always seem to start threads like this on other boards I post at, I guess you could say I'm a fan of tattoos (gee, how could you tell?). Basically, anything about tats can go in here. With that being said, I'll start it off with some close up shots of my tats.
*Note- when these were taken some of the work was fresh, as you may notice by the off color.

I wonder if anyone has ever gotten a teletubby "tv belly" tat. Or maybe a pregnancy sonogram tat, or the same, but with a weird critter instead of a human baby? That would be kinda funny. Ok, maybe not so much.

Those are serious tattoos, my friend.
I have four tattoos myself. Trying to decide on #5 for my birthday (two weeks from today!). So far I have, a butterfly on my hip, Chinese charecters (for strength, trust and faith) on my shoulder, a fairy & lavendar below those, and the glyph for the sign of Cancer on my tailbone.

i don't have any tattoes at all - i don't like the idea of having one.
but my little sister has quite a few that stretch from her very lower back up to below her shoulder blades, then round underneath her breasts. it's very cool. she designed it herself, and she did a very good job.
she's also got some right across the top of her shoulder blades in a pattern i refer to as a 'picket fence'...she doesn't like it when i call then that....
but the thing i don't understand is that she's such a woos, yet she got all these mega tatts....but she always was a weirdo.

those are awesome tats, dude. dark elven house insignias and runes...that is fucking beast. Also, I noticed the Bruenor Battlehammer part with the shield and axe. That is some sick shit, dude! Forgotten Realms is the shit
My own one tattoo is a crescent moon design around my belly button. I'll post a pic if I can find one or take one, but its nothing spectacular. I plan on getting another either on my shoulder or on my back or something...still deciding though. I really like Aztec designs and the like. |

I have atatoo on my finger of a lizard, a generic lizard. I can't explain it really.

I knew a guy back when who had the sides of his head shaved a big camilion (sp, the lizard that changes colors and shit, too lazy am I) tat on the side of his head, all greeen and stuff.. too bad the tatoo didn't change colors by itself too... I guess in certain light with certain film yeah you could do that, but his head would still be in reality...
I'm thinking of getting a pentagram type thing on my heart, I'm not sure yet though... some sort of symbol on my heart...

I want two more at least so far but I haven't finished drawing them. But I like small tatoos. Sleeves and stuff are a bit much for me, but I have no problem with anyone going to town on body art, as long as it doesn't interfere with their well-being or mine for that matter. actually, fuck me, I am not important in the grand scheme of things. Just a dude that stirs up the dust on the ground and pollutes the airwaves with his accidential schtik?

my brother in his wu tang fever went to get the chinese symbol for drugs on his arm.... six months after the tat he found out froma chinese chappie his tattoo actually means pharmasist, heh

I have the chinese symbol for music on my stomach. I also have a large dragon on my right upper arm, coming out of the Chinese symbol for dragon.
I am getting a pheonix with flames on my left upper arm soon.

Funny, I had that idea myself...I was going to get an 8ball tattooed on my chest with the number 13 instead of 8 (it's always been "my number") with "Number 13, baby" written underneath it...but I opted for something else.
For your first tattoo I would recommend the shoulder or some other such fleshy area. The chest is pretty painful...but I guess it all depends on how you take pain, for some of the work on my inner biceps I was actually laughing because it tickled so much, my tattoo guy thinks I'm a freak
apl- Indeed, Milkman Dan is the bizzle! Aside form that tattoo, they are all fantasy themed, the artwork is all taken from books I've read, and the bold work is all dark elven spell runes and house insignias.
I've got a whole little philosophy about my tattoos, but I won't get into that right now, I got the day off and the golf course is calling my name!

I like the screaming "Hamburger Helper meets The Residents" one at the top.
Whoever did most of that work does a very fine job. Did you design all of them yourself, or get some images from others? I doubt I'll ever get a tatoo myself, but not because of the pain. I just can't commit to a static image.
