Buy some raspberry leaves at a natural food store, or your local bulk herb supply house. Steep about 1 tsp per cup of boiling water, and try to enjoy. Feel free to also add some peppermint or chamomile for flavor help, as they both have calmative effects on the stomach. Note: At your own risk, I am not a doctor, not intended to be medical advice, may not be valid in all states, including Alaska, Hawaii, and Confusion.

The raspberry leaves may not taste the best, but I have seen and experienced its calming effects on the vomitous.

no this guy is really not getting older than 40 years
I'm probably confused
just to make sure you are fine in some sort of way
(not the being miserable for the rest of your life part)

Yeah, plenty of side-effects to keep me busy for a while, haha.

Hmm...it could be Lyme Disease...because I know death is a possibility from it...but if he's being treated then he'll be fine. Just miserable for the rest of his life...I don't know...keep me informed please...heh.

hey crouton,
don't want to be rude
but I heard yesterday that a friends friend (I met him only once) had lyme disease and that he came all the way over from australia to holland because the doctors couldn't treat him there as well as here.
He won't get older than 30 or 40 years though....
or am I confussing it with another disease?

Do your anti-depressants have the side effects?

1. I am a fsh with no i's.
2. You must be wearing Zubaz, 'cause you're daring to be different.
3. I am a man with 3 fingers...but that doesn't count my index finger nor my thumb.
TheCroutonFuton Posted - 06/28/2004 : 13:42:59
I'm not able to try that because I already take 3 different anti-depressants that work together. That small dose would fuck up the rest. My depression hasn't been as bad lately so I don't want to fuck up the intricate balance.

They supposedly diagnosed me with IBS, by eliminating a lot of things, and they have me on a fraction dose of Nortryptiline (sp?), which is an anti-depressant. Supposedly in small doses it relieves nausea and whatever, which I deal with every day. Most anti-depressants have a lot of digestive side effects, but since it's a small dose it doesn't have the side effects.

Mainly Lyme Disease, but I'm sure the other two don't help either.

Well, I take that back. Some of the pills really do help when it comes to puking...but some days it's just too much for me.

Do you throw up due to your IBS, the Lyme disease, or from the massive amounts of pills you take in?

Oh yes, I've seen several doctors. I have Chronic Lyme Disease and some weird stomach condition. H-Pyloree or however it's spelled. Oh, also IBS. YUM! Since there is no cure for Lyme Disease quite yet I'm being treated. Several thousand miligrams of anti-biotics a day and tons of supplements. Over 60 pills a day. YUMMY! So I have to drink a lot to take all of the medicine...and because of my condition I throw up a lot. Oh well, I should be used to it by now.

Skatealex: Yay Glad the cloth trick worked :D And yep nicotine can make you nauseous - a friend of mine turned greenish and couldn't go to class after she smoked a lucky strike without eating breakfast

Crouton: You seen someone about that? I feel that vomit is to be feared and respected; ... in moderation, its alright to do.. but if you're throwing up 2 times a day over a long period of time that can be bad .. gastric contents of the stomach are at a pH of <4, so that acidic badness can erode your esophagus and teeth.. If you haven't, I'd definitel y get that checked out

Cult_Of_Frank Posted - 06/28/2004 : 13:03:27
You vomit twice a day, Crouton? I can't imagine...

If it's chronic, like with IBS or something, some doctors prescribe a small dose of anti-depressant medicine, which is found to be kind of a pain-killer, and relieves nausea.

Also, there's this other prescription stuff which I don't remember anything about.

2. You must be wearing Zubaz, 'cause you're daring to be different.

Yes, something fizzy and clear like 7Up, Sprite, ginger ale, tonic water are all good for nausea when very, very cold.
Take some tylenol and drink this if you're not puking.
If you are and it lasts for a long time, see a dr.

Ah, the King of Throw-Up is here. I throw up atleast twice a day, if not more....so....here's what you've gotta do: Throw-up. Believe me, after about 10 times you'll get the hang of it, after 20 you'll be able to control it, after 30 you'll be able to throw up in a little dixie-cup (don't ask) and so on.

If you really don't want to throw up...get some Cease-Fire: Or as I like to call it...Magical Shit Wafers! They look like shit! Smell like shit! And taste like shit! YAY! But, as the title says, they're magical and they work. Search Google or something for Cease Fire and you'll find it.

(Ah, and the only time you should really be afraid of vomiting is when you can't control it and you're trying to breath. You can choke on it very easily that way. But other than that, which usually only happens with the stomach flu and stuff, you shouldn't worry about it at all. It's a very natural thing. Like farting. Seriously, what you're saying would be like someone who has a stomach ache but is saying, "I need help to get rid of this bloating! I'm afraid of farting though, so that's not an option! What should I do?!!!!" see what I mean?)

Yep. You can also get ginger capsules or tea. Those things usually stop nausea dead in its tracks for me.

Ginger is supposed to have stabilizing properties. Go eat some Chinese food!

Also, Club Soda may help, or ginger ale - and some saltines, nibbled slowly.

You may have a stomach bug. Do you have a fever or chills?

You could have worms, too. Club soda won't help that. Hope you get better!

Try smoking a little weed. You don't have to get all fucked up, maybe just a few hits, but it's great for taking care of nausea.

Two possibilities: I got a bottle of something called 'Anti-Nausea (lemon-mint) liquid' from the drugstore ... Trying to combat the "nausea" I had from drinking too much liquor. But..I must say it did help quite a bit.

Option 2: In my days running around hospitals as a nursing student, one RN showed me how putting a cool/damp cloth on the person's neck/upper chest when theyre nauseauzeated (bleh) can really help it a lot... I don't know if it'll like have you set for the day or anything but worth a shot

If its from indigestion or weird food problems some antacids might help.. Hope something helps!

My solution to feeling nautious is throwing up. I just don't understand how people can make it through being nautious w/o vomitting. Sure, vomitting isn't the greatest feeling, but compared to feeling nautious, it's fantastic, cuz it gets rid of it. So I know of no other way to deal w/ it than that. Sorry.
