Has changed so much in the last 50 years.

Then:

Now:

Does anyone know what I mean? Personally, I prefer "then" to "now". It was classy then. Now it's kinda slutty. All of these little girls think that they have to be super-thin with big boobs and wear skimpy clothing to be "beautiful". And a lot of guys think they have to be the stereotypical prettyboy. I don't know. We already knew I was weird, heh. What are your thoughts?

"est cette droite?" - "est-ce juste"
är du välkommen? - "var sa god"

I cannot type Swedish, I have a Croatian keyboard right now and it is completely different from our French Azertys. I don't know where the weird letters are.

är du välkommen?.... Je t’en prie? (est cette droite?)

Thora even made Dungeons and Dragons watchable.

Here'a another Scarlett movie which absolutely kicks ass, by the way!
As far as beauty, I'm more into Thora though.

You mean these guys all play for the other team? Holy shit, I'm going to Hollywood.
Monsieur Posted - 06/25/2004 : 09:35:39
That is right. And she played a girl from that Vermeers painting - the old and the new, bla bla bla.

Please, edit your post. Please.

Hey floop, I thought you would post a pic of Scarlett... I cannot post pictures here - I am in a cybercafe in a strange country with a strange keyboard. Do it, please.

Heh, I have the same falling.

No somuch for mr professor there, but the floppy, sloppy scruffy hair thang,.

I dont know, i think that im attracted to those sort of guys because its kind of like 'fuck you, i dont care' atttitude, but stilllook incredibly gorgeous while doingit. However, its only the fake attitiude that i go for - i like my men to wash....

Also its kind of the bad boy vibe - which i seem to be really digging right now (again).

but yet at the ame time, guys like Mr Kelly, who are incredibly neat, charming, and gentlmen likem, I would never kick out of bed for eating biscuits, ya know...

I bet you never thought your movie would turn out this way
You crossed the other way, youd hope i wouldnt see you, you say youre doing fine, but thats not what it looks like, your undercovers on...

There's a button called "Preview Reply" . That's what I do whenever I post a picture, helps me avoid posting company logos and little red boxes. And answer my question on the "Show Yourselves" thread! I'm confused...haha

Sorry, I kinda have a thing for Ms. Dusku
Jason Posted - 06/24/2004 : 03:14:29
It hasn't changed that much, I'd say.

The comparisons above aren't entirely fair. An Errol Flynn equivalent today would be a George Clooney or a Mel Gibson, not Justin Timberlake. Though it did just dawn on me that Justin Timberlake bears a slight resemblence to the very young, 1940s-era Frank Sinatra.

The Audrey Hepburn picture above, I can look at and think she's beautiful, but I don't find her sexy. Christina though, in some photos, I do find very sexy. I'd rather roll around with her than Audrey Hepburn. So where sex appeal fits into the beauty equation, I don't know. To me, it counts.

Also there were stars from 50 years ago who worked the overt sexuality angle. Dig up some pics of Jayne Mansfield or Mamie Van Doren. And Bettie Page's cult following thrives to this day.

One thing I do agree with Mr. Crouton Fouton on is his dismay with today's celebrity weight standards. Sometimes I think the lettuce-diet thinness of most of today's famous actresses is more of an effort to impress women than it is to appeal to men.

I'd prefer to be some cross between Pamela Anderson and Winona Ryder.

Jennifer Connelelly obviously doesn't mind about the whole beauty thing. Her husband looks like David Moyes.

even though i prefer "classic" beauty, which someone like, say, Jennifer Connelly has (pictured below with undeserving husband) i don't think we should discriminate against girls who are more overt about their sexuality (like Monica Bellucci). it would be wrong to.

I think Christina A is just repulsive, She just looks like she needs a wash.

The white trash slut look is just horrible, i'm sure only the most stupid of men actually fall for it.

As my mother once told me, there's girls you date and girls you marry.
darwin Posted - 06/23/2004 : 10:08:40
Modern actresses comparable to Audrey Hepburn (beautiful in a cute way) might be Meg Ryan or Julia Roberts.

For guys, there's still Harrison Ford, Pierce Bronson, George Clooney, and many others.

Sure, the slutty look wasn't so much around 50 years ago (what about Mae West), but that's doesn't mean "classic" beauty is gone.
BLT Posted - 06/23/2004 : 09:53:21
I don't think it's valid to compare major actors/actresses of one era to the pop stars of another. It would make more sense to pick current actors like maybe Mel Gibson and Cate Blanchett.

I agree I think for the most part peoples taste in the way they want their celebrities to look hasn't changed at all, just they way the celebrities package those looks.
