Posted - 06/15/2004 : 00:55:17 So what was it like? That house/apartment/trailer that you entered and just could not believe the sight and/or the stench. Some guys I knew had a trailer that ended up going straight to hell. They had tons of fast food trash that they never took care of, would spill beer all over the place, vomit, cat shit, all sorts of awful stuff everywhere. It was always musty of something rotting inside. A box of donuts would fall off the table and into the grill for the heating ducts and not get picked up and the donuts would just get mashed into the grill. The bathroom was especially awful. But when I posted this on a different board, so many people had stories that topped mine, so get to it. Think back to the residence that you've tried to block out.

Posted - 06/15/2004 : 06:48:55 When i first came in Italy i met this guy at the university that was the only one that had some taste in music, so one day he invited me at his home for a beer and to listen to some records. He lived in an appartment with other 9 people and they had only one kitchen and one bathroom. He shared the room with a guy that had Mussolini posters over his bed and a rather impressive collection of fascist hymns cassettes. My friend was a convinced communist and on his side of the room had Che Guevara posters and other red paraphernalia. It was a pretty odd room like this but what really impressed me was the filth. Apart from the ashtrays the empty beer bottles and pizza boxes all over the place (which are pretty normal for a student flat) dirty clothes were piled in all 4 corners. What made me really sick was when he opened the closet and i saw that they conserved the unwashed plates and glasses in it with the clean clothes and their shoes. They said that since they couldn't leave the kitchen dirty and they hated to wash dishes after finishing a meal they took everything in their room and then they washed them later. That was really gross. The rest of the flat was more or less like this, it seemed like a military camp were the general was dead and the privates had gone mad.

Posted - 06/15/2004 : 06:21:16 I used to babysit for this little boy and his family was pretty dirty. Like old food from days before left around on plates, clothes everywhere, etc. It was really gross and depressing and both his parents were therapists. I didn't understand the way they lived AT ALL. Weird.

Posted - 06/15/2004 : 01:54:38 Your story's awful, TarTar. I had 2 friends who shared an apartment at the Uni, and they were kinda trying to get the filthiest kitchen ever, just for a laugh. They'd never take out the trash, let fruit rot in the closets, and hot dogs were lying on the floor. The smell was so bad you couldn't actually enter the kitchen, so they condemned the door. When the smell became truly unbearable, one of them opened the door quickly and ran across the kitchen to open the window, and it only attracted pigeons who came in and shat all over the place. Luckily I wasn't there when they moved.
