My dad's basement flooded today. 4 or 5 inches of water.. saved my guitars and amp.. but sadly I had a box of 150 or so CDs on the floor which included my huge collection of Beach Boys AND _Frank Black_ CDs.. obviously the CDs are ok but the artwork is all ruined.. and so much for things like Oddballs.. and anything in a DigiPac case :(

why is the world in love again.... why are we marching hand in hand... a brand new record... for 1990... they might be giants brand new album ... floo-oo-oo-oo-ood!!!!

can't get into anything these days. Always on the peripheral. Always terrified, exhausted, annoyed, pissed, anxious, out of it-out of the loop, out of my mind, out of time.

Yeah, you might not have had any murder weapons left!

I'm getting ready to move, thats why the CDs were downstairs... "Flood" by they might be giants was in a different box and gladly didn't become ironic.. and yeah, rain caused this. The worst is my Eels Daisy's of the Galaxy.. the booklet inside ripped when I opened it and the front cover is stuck to the top flap :( Oh well..

I keep a copy in mp3 of every cd I own on my computer and copies of my CDs in my car for listening.. so I never actually play the real CDs anymore.

Luckily I pulled out all 5 of my guitars before they got wet.. that would have been worse!

One of my roommates once moved out of a house a week before I did and took all my albums with him. I was out of town at the time. On the bright side it was around time when most of us were switching over to CDs.

I wouldn't pull a cobain. I feel bad, but floop made good point: the music counts. Some would claim that looks and apperance are superficial. It's that which is on the inside, rather than the outside, that counts.

I thought it was going to be a TMBG thread and all it is is this...

Sorry to hear it though. Rain or a broken pipe?

At least it was just water. Flash floods are known for sewer backups :)

Why do u keep your CDs in the basement? Your parents keep you locked in there?

I'd pull a Cobain if that happened to me! I'm so sorry.
