I'm looking forward to the Spiderman sequel as well as I, Robot (even though I'm not a big Will Smith fan, this movie looks cool)
What other cool movies are coming out?

"Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny"
I love every movie Jack Black has been in. He's brilliant. I saw envy a couple of weeks ago and loved it! VaPoorize!
I didn't like Spider-Man at all...Horribly overrated and over-hyped...
There was a preview for a movie in the beginning of Envy...but I can't remember what it's called. It's about a geek. That's all I know...and the preview made me feel like even more of a geek..because the guy was drawing an animal and a girl asked him what it was and he's like, "It's a liger. They're my favorite animal. It's like a cross between a lion and a tiger..." and I had been looking into ligers at the time...they're really HUGE. Biggest cats in the world. Fucking big. And they love to swim, too. Anyways...I forget what it's called...but it looks really funny.

I guess this way they're hoping they'll draw in some Asimov fans in addition to the typical sci-fi-movie-going crowd. Sure, they'll probably hate it and complain, but as long as they pay for their tickets, Hollywood doesn't care.

Posted - 06/05/2004 : 04:24:52 Can not wait for Spiderman. Loved the first one, and this one should be better. Less set-up, more action. Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus-too cool! Arrrrgghhhh, I'm in geek agony! I wanna see it now!!!
And I, Robot? C'mon. I haven't seen it, but the previews sure make it look like another generic future-action movie. They've got some babe playing Susan Calvin. This crap wouldn't happen if Asimov was still alive. Why make a movie that just steals a few character names and minor concepts from a story? Why not eliminate those and just make an original piece? Ah, Hollywood.
Any other movies coming out that aren't big budget comic geek movies? I like those, too, but they're easy to miss during the ramp-up for the summer movie season.

I didn't know they were remaking it. I didn't see the Psycho remake, but I think redoing it shot for shot was a horrible idea. I assume they're not going to do the same thing with the Manchurian Candidate remake.

the movie i am most looking forward to since...ever is "Sin City" co-directed by robert rodriguez and FRANK MILLER himself. also, i read tarantino has a hand in it. rodriguez is keeping it EXTREMELY faithful to the graphic novel. i'm talkin' frame by frame. 2005, bitches.

Yeah Jersey Girl, dispite what people said, I liked it. That was a fucked up family movie. It suppose to be sweet and nice, but there's people saying Bullshit every other line and two little kids flashing each other. I couldn't stop laughing at how uncomfortable that scene was. Oh that was wrong, you'll see what I'm talking about if you see bother to look past the Bennifer stigma and actually watch the film.
Oh and there's another Clerks movie coming out, it's going to be animated because Kev and Jason don't want to play Jay and Bob anymore physically. So look foward to that.
In my defense... I'm just sayin' |

Posted - 06/04/2004 : 14:59:15 I, Robot. That's the movie where the robots revolt against their human superiors... hmmm that sounds familiar, the plot sounds familiar. It reminds me of another movie. Wasn't that movie called The Terminator!!!!!!!!!! Hollywood is officially out of ideas. You know people are actually saying it's time to remake Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring? How wrong.
In my defense... I'm just sayin' |

Posted - 06/04/2004 : 14:48:44 Not many any more. The Lord of the Rings series is over. The Two Bills are out and about. I got my Kevin Smith fill. The only film that I was looking foward to was Harry Potter, that just came out today. So I just can't say anymore.

As for Around The World in 80 days, my god does that look bad. I love Steve Coogan, but this film really does look bad from the trailers.

Posted - 06/04/2004 : 12:21:32 Troy wasn't bad. It reminded me a lot of Ben-Hur and such, and I like this kind of films.
shine: I haven't seen the PPG movie, but you're right, 99% of the time the cartoons are quite disappointing when turned into movies. The only exception I can think of is South Park.

Can't wait for Spiderman 2, and Harry Potter. I've only seen the first one but I'm watching the 2nd tonight.
Anyone see Troy? It was mediocre.
Hulk was mediocre too. The first 50 minutes of that film is dreadfully slow and painful. Floop is right, Jennifer Connelly doesn't save the film, but imagine if she wasn't in it. It would have been really hard to watch.

Spongebob is hilarious, I don't know how they will do a whole movie though, I expect it to disappoint the same way The Powerpuff Girls movie did (not bad, but the shows are better). Regardless, I will see it opening week-end, Boo Ya!

Posted - 06/03/2004 : 17:58:00 i caught HULK on tv a few weekends ago at a friends. i couldn't believe how fucking atrocious it was. not even the presence of Jennifer Connelly could save that film.
the split-screen thing was a BAD idea. bad bad bad.. and (talking about what VoVat is saying) the CGI Hulk was ridiculous looking. why didn't they just shoot a real person? or even animatronics?
a train wreck.

i don't know, it would be kind of creepy if Arnold and Willis were STILL living with their parents at this age, in bunk beds. but then, that could take it to a whole new level..
the A-Team on the other hand.. it's totally plausible that another plan would come together. not only plausible, but likely...
would it not be cinema bliss to see Mr. T insulting Murdock one more time, "SHUT UP FOO!".. or to hear Hannibal, once again, say the words "i love it when a plan comes together"..
and of course they'll have to drug Mr. T at some point because he's afraid of flying.
and we'll need at least a 5 minute montage of them buliding stuff, preparing for the plan (but you can't really tell what they're building .. they're just welding and stuff)..

Posted - 06/03/2004 : 17:06:35 i wish they would do one of these 80's TV shows RIGHT. i think it would be SO FUCK-ING cool if they did an A-TEAM movie, only with all the original cast. yes, all the origianl cast. they get back together for one more plan..
they're all still alive and i'm sure they could use the money.
it would be funny the way the first BRADY BUNCH THE MOVIE was (in a tongue-in-cheek way), but seriously kick ass too. and film it in a cheesy 80's TV style, but in a more sophisticated way.
same goes for KNIGHT RIDER. original cast baby. at least David Hasselhoff, and the voice for KIT.
tell me that would not be the shit. |
