I've just seen on the news that Camden Council (a borough of London) are suing BMG and SonyUK for flyposting all over Camden Town. Now, much as I dislike major labels in general, fly-posting doesn't bother me at all. I think its quite cool that at some point on a bus journey, for example, you will be able to find out the release date of that record you were interested in, or the tour dates of that band you've heard about.
I like it because the posters add a bit of colour to some drab walls, but then, I'm a muso, my opinion may be biased. I can see how some people would object to fly-posting - I guess it can look a bit scruffy after a while.

Whats your opinions?

I'm not really familiar with the term "fly-posting" (must be a British expression), but I get the impression that it's simply putting up advertising posters. I don't think that's a problem unless the town in question has forbidden it ahead of time. I don't want posters on EVERY space, but I certainly don't mind a few of them here and there.

You've made a solid case there Jen. However, it doesn't bode well for those little labels who use such tactics.
See, you can blame the majors for everything.
