Man, I tells ya, this world is getting worse and worse. Do any of you find yourselves becoming increasingly classist? I work as a dispatcher at campus police and I just had to log:

STUDENT A CALLED, STATED THAT STUDENT B TOOK HER HAIR OUT OF THE TRASH WHERE A FIGHT OCCURRED (it was pulled out). STUDENT B TOOK HAIR BACK TO TH 67.

I felt trashy just writing that. And by the way, that log was dictated to me; the cop is an idiot.

Anyhoo, I just can't stand people. I'm from the city where a lot of trashy people live and I just want out even though this incident ocurred in the country. I've found that these things can make a person racist without them realizing it because many times disgusting things happen in cities where they see a lot of black people. What people don't think about is that it's not just black people. I visited home the other week and looked around and said, "you know, I'm not racist, I just hate everyone who lives here." The cop I'm working with recently told me and I quote, "I'm a racist." I actually had to point out to him that he wasn't racist, he just couldn't stomach trash.

Has anyone else found this to be true? and please don't try to turn this around on me - I know some are likely to. Just read the post before making any assumptions please. Funny thing is, "classist" isn't even appropriate because, technically, I'm of the same class as many of these people. I just feel better than them I guess.

I find that people in south east Michigan seem to be somewhat racist or completely racist or more inclined to say racist things. When I moved to PA and would say this or that, my ex-girlfriend thought I was (and my family was) very racist...the environment had a lot to do with it. White people are literally a minority in Detroit. More Middle Eastern people live in southeast Michigan (Dearborn, specifically) than anywhere else in the world, other than the Middle East.

Didn't Chris Rock say something like "I don't hate black people, I hate niggers." I guess that's the equivalent of saying I hate white trash or rednecks, but obviously it doesn't sound as harsh due to the dark history of the word "nigger."

I have to agree on this. I find myself saying some racist things when I see trashy people, even at my own latin/hispanic brothers (and sisters). I don't think it's racist, but it sure comes off that way. Especially the way people dress these days. I found myself saying, "Fucking nigger" after I saw these guys pull up in an SUV with the twirly rims. But there was some Wigger in there in the back. It does distrub me a bit, I'm far from racist. I'm also the last one to be racist, since I'm from a "minority class." But I understand where your coming from guy. I don't think many people know better. Sad for them.

But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.
