Beware, my dear neighbors to the north...your courts are placing the burden of liability on the little guy. I highly recommend you now genetically test each blade of grass in your lawn...just in case.

Posted - 05/22/2004 : 09:46:56 motherfukers. that's fuckin capitalism for you. not even communism in its deepest filthiness could ever tell u what plant u cant grow. Its because of corporate business like this that Islam riuning the world as we know it might not be such a bad idea. At least post-apocalypse we'd be rid of people shouting freedom while strangling your liberty. |

Posted - 05/22/2004 : 09:21:52 well, patenting a modified gene sequence is one thing (which I stuggle with anyway), but saying you are at fault because my modified plant crept over to your soil is over the top. Maybe my perspective is off, and I am simply lacking a monopoly to fully enjoy, as the court put it.

Posted - 05/22/2004 : 09:12:38 How can you patent a gene? That's just ridiculous.

Posted - 05/22/2004 : 08:01:54 Wow, that's insane!! Lifeforms are lifeforms; there is no higher or lower . . . well, you know what I mean. Patenting and copyrighting is getting out of hand. I still cannot believe that the WWF was forced to give up its name. How the hell can you own an acronym!!!?
