I'm reading Moby Dick. Started yesterday, and it's a great book, really. I'm preparing my imminent holidays, and it's a kind of book that makes you travel. I love the books where the characters are on a boat - my favorite is Cities of the red night.

Just finished Beckett's Molloy. I really have a problem with Beckett. I'm always very happy when I finish his books, but not always happy while reading them. I am very fond of Kafka and Joyce though, and he seems to be somewhere between these two writers. I don't know.

I keep feeling like people are just looking at screens and web sites all the time, but do they ever do anything? Or go out and say anything to anyone? I'm not so sure anymore.

Dude, are you trying to make me cry?

Is that a question, or a recommendation?

No need to apologize LBF. It (porno) was a lame attempt at humor. Fully worthy of any ridicule it may receive. I certainly was not being serious.
As far as what i'm reading right now, I do not read a lot of fiction. To be honest with you, I mostly enjoy reading information books. In particular, nutrition books.
http://www.grainmills.com.au/prod99.htm. I think this is a great book if you want to improve your health.
I'm trying to read more fiction right now though. After I finish1984 I intend on finishing Mein Kampf. I started reading it out of curiousity but got turned off by Hitlers hate filled rantings. I'm fascinated to learn how an entire nation can rally behind such an apparent madman.

Edit: Excuse me, Mein Kampf is not fiction.
Bad example of, "what I'm trying to read other than nutrition books"..

Okay, I feel we're going in the wrong direction here.
I don't make a habit of reading pornography for many reasons, the main one being I can't afford it.

On a serious note. I'm still reading 1984.

It's a really weird story but I know this kid from a writer's workshop I did back in 1992... I knew he'd be famous

This book is really creepy. He read a bunch of horrofic articles and then made up the characters behind them... check it out, real quick read but worth it, and really creepy

Okay, sorry about the porn shit. I did not mean to offend.

So you want our opinion on some kid you did, from your writers workshop back in 1992?

I just re-read "The Informers" by bret easton Ellis again. I love it and it makes me miss pot and wish I had pills to pop.

I'm pretty sure there's a new David Sedaris book out this month called "Dress Your Family in Cordoroy and Denim" - I might buy it when I get paid next Friday.

"Barrel Fever" and "Me Talk Pretty One Day" are great, but "Naked" is the best.

Roddy Doyle - The Commitments
Fyodor Dostoevsky - Crime & Punishment
Lorenzo Carcaterra - Sleepers
Louis De Bernieres - Captain Corelli's Mandolin
Sebastien Faulks - Charlotte Gray

These are books that I have enjoyed recently - I think they are good, if that helps. Probably not.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon.

My wife has just read it and she's been raving about it and urging me to read it. So I've started it and it's really great. It's told by a 15-year-old autistic boy who has a fascination with numbers, space (hey there FB fans!) and logic.

Plus it's not very long, so you probably won't have time to get bored even if you don't like it.

I want to read something GOOD. I hate when I start a book and get midway through and realize I am very bored. Blah.

I finished To Kill A Mockingbird. It was really good - duh. I cried. Especially at the "Miss Jean Louise, stand up, your fathers passin" and "Hey, Boo." parts. *Sob*

Now what should I read?

Reading The Bible too. And I plan on getting Bill Mason's Confessions of a Master Jewel Thief soon. It's his autobiography which included lots of juicy stories about his ripping off the likes of Bob Hope, mafia bosses, etc.

Finished IRONWEED. And Shineoftheever, Asimov's "Please Explain" is the only thing I have ever read by him; it is fantasticawesome.

One of my favourite 'series' of books has to be the foundation series by Isaac Asimov, I think I'll read them again this summer.
