Could the forum members living in London and Paris please help. Where do you buy your music? I'll be looking for some Pixies and FB albums on vinyl and also some bootlegs when I come to Europe to see the Pixies.

Thank you.

right....
well yes, rough trade is pretty damn good.
but berwick street is the one to go too.
it's got selectadisc and about 5 other really good ones.
it's just off oxford street near tottenemcourt road tube station.
avoid the megastores cause they're godawfully expensive.

Gibert is great but not for vinyls. Although the people working there are pretty stupid.
If you're looking for vinyls, you could try Crocodisc (rue des Ecoles), it's not far from St Michel.

Hmm, I buy most of mine on Amazon, so don't ask me. Benji might know.
Rough Trade is supposed to pretty good (its off Portobello road I think) although I've never been for some reason. There are tons of good shops in Camden Town, Resurrection springs to mind.

There are some good ones tucked away in Soho apparently, but I've never found em. If I'm in town I prefer Tower, don't ask me why.

We'll be staying nearby Boulevard St Michel, I'll try out Gibert.

First time I ever went to Europe was in '89, stayed with my sister in Paris. I visited the Virgin Megastore as often as I could, I only knew tiny overstuffed record shops before. I miss those small stores.

Gibert is good for the second hand stuff, but otherwise you hve a better choice at the Virgin. At least that's what I think.

I keep feeling like people are just looking at screens and web sites all the time, but do they ever do anything? Or go out and say anything to anyone? I'm not so sure anymore.

Cool shop in Paris: Gibert , Boulevard St Michel, Vth district (arrondissement).
No bootlegs.

I buy my CDs at the Virgin Megastore Champs Elysées, which is not the best place if you want to get some rare stuff, so I don't know if I can really help you...
