My brother WAS able to have downloaded every single Radiohead b-side off Kazaa, but I wouldn't say you can find a "great deal" of stuff. I do not know.

Soulseek isnt littered with fancy features, its straightforward and chances are you will always get what you want. Winmx is similar but its such a bastard finding files that arent queued up for miles.

no spyware in soulseek. i would avoid all versions of kazaa because the network is heavily monitored by the majors. winmx and emule are good alternatives though rare stuff can be found easily only on slsk.

good call, Malax.
I keep hearing about Soulseek but haven't checked it out. My main concern is spyware/adware. Does Soulseek have this, or is there perhaps a "Lite" version with that code stripped from it?

Kazaa lite is no where near as good as soulseek for rarer stuff. You can find anything by frank black on there (for example) but you wouldn't find as much on kazaa. If your looking for other stuff as well, like exe files cracks etc etc kazaa is better.

Thanks for the kind words. We aim to please.

PS: Since i can't afford a paid webspace my sites (bootleg artwork and live fb photos) are frequently on and off. For those interested i share all that stuff on Soulseek (send me a note and i'll give you my nick )

Kazaa - yes.
Kazaa lite - no.
Soulseek - no.
Bit Torrent - cookies on some sites, but not really.

do any of these programs utalize spyware popups, tracking devices or any other bullshit?
klikger Posted - 05/11/2004 : 07:31:20
I wish I knew how to effectively use port forwarding with my router so I could use bittorrent. :(
billgoodman Posted - 05/11/2004 : 07:21:52
bittorent is the key to heaven!
allthough it's not a file sharing program
like kazaa or soulseek (which are fine too)

I use K-Lite cause it's nice n' easy

For ten thousand years he slept, his mind feeding on the nightmares of the weak. Now he has awakened. As the night turned crimson, the fire-blade shattered and his power died. Then, the slaughter began...

You may want to change the title of this topic. I was a little concerned in opening it.

However I second http://www.slsknet.org soulseek
