Boy I love this film. I am a huge fan of these American films from the 80s and early 90s, like Home alone, Risky Business, the Gremlins etc. I also like Top Gun, although I think it was just a warm up for a masterpiece that followed : the Days of the Thunder.
Everything is great about this film : the actors, the music, the dialogues, the script, the general atmosphere, everything.
Otherwise it's springtime here in Paris, girls are starting to wear miniskirts. You can smell the hormones in the air.

At Convention, there are some decent cafés, though no bars. I don't know Mister Beuret, but I like his name pretty much. I'll try it one of these days. The only place in the arrondissement with something to do is vers La Motte-Picquet - Grenelle, but not so close to me - I usually go Montparnasse, cause my friends are bretons.
Right, two can play at that game!!!

Je devrais être allé à la tour d'Eiffel
That looks stupid.
It IS stupid!

Tu me manqueras.
This literally translates to "You will be lacking to me", which makes perfect sense; the reflexive pronoun 'me' makes it so that the lacking is directed to the first person [first person referring to the "I", "me", "my", "mine" subjects] - and "manqueras" is a future tense of the verb "manquer" (which means "to lack") perfectly conjugated with the secong person singular/informal [the "tu" subject]. But my software says:
Je m'ennuierai de vous.
Maybe some esperts on the subject could cure my confusion a bit?
'Je m'ennuierai de vous' literally means 'I will long for you'.
Obviously your French is much more reliable than your software. :)
Congrats!

actually i just looked that up with my translation software.
Is this software reliable? Quite frankly, I can't quite find any GOOD software. The software I use often translates English phrases to French phrases very poorly, and vise versa.
For example, I learned in school that if I were to write "I should have gone to the Eiffel tower" in French, I would write the following:
J'aurais dû aller à la Tour Eiffel.
This phrase is, I THINK (I am probably wrong), written in the past conditional tense, which is formed by taking the future stem of a verb and adding in the imperfect endings - in this case, the ending is "ais", becuase the subject is a first person singular, and "ais" is the imperfect ending that corresponds with the first person singular. But according to my software, the correct way to write "I should have gone to the Eiffel Tower" is the following:
Je devrais être allé à la tour d'Eiffel
That looks stupid. They just took "je devrais" and slapped it on with "être allé" becuase "allé" is a verb that takes "être", rather than "avoir", as the auxiliary verb when in the past tense. Is this correct?
And furthermore, I thought that the correct way to say the English phrase "I Will Miss You" in French.........was the following:
Tu me manqueras.
This literally translates to "You will be lacking to me", which makes perfect sense; the reflexive pronoun 'me' makes it so that the lacking is directed to the first person [first person referring to the "I", "me", "my", "mine" subjects] - and "manqueras" is a future tense of the verb "manquer" (which means "to lack") perfectly conjugated with the secong person singular/informal [the "tu" subject]. But my software says:
Je m'ennuierai de vous.
Maybe some esperts on the subject could cure my confusion a bit?
And floop, if your software doesn't make these mistakes (again, I THINK they are mistakes, but I'm not sure), I would very much lke to be apprised of your software. |

In the fact that its not very good its about an alien who doesn't know much about earth and stuff and its got Dan Aykroyd in it.
