It has some pretty frightening and disturbing information provided within...at this point, I'm almost wishing for Erebus or Dallas to come in and say it's all bullshit fear mongering, but I don't think they can even deny some of the information found within...disturbing predictions:
quote: By the mid-1990's a small Peak Oil community had formed. At the forefront of this community was a man by the name of Jay Hanson, who operated the website DieOff.org.
In 1997, Hanson made the following predictions:
1. Worldwide oil production would peak sometime around the year 2000.
2. Within a few years of the peak, the US would invade Iraq under false pretenses, depose Saddam, seize the oil fields, and set up an occupational government.
quote: As early as 1995, some in the Peak Oil community were predicting that:
1. Within a few years of oil production peaking, the US would be engaged in a worldwide war. This war would be focused primarily on Muslim, oil producing nations.
2. Gas prices would hit record highs by summer 2004. This would become a major issue in the 2004 Presidential election.
3. OPEC would cut its production around the same time to hide the fact their oil fields would be in permanent decline.
4. The US would begin passing fascist-style legislation in preparation for the American population's response to the coming oil shocks.
5. The draft would be reinstated to provide soldiers for oil wars
I'm pretty convinced this world is done for, and I want out. I'm depressed to all ends.
