Well what else can a Geordie drink but a nice bottle of Newcie Broon!

Apart from that its a variety of other ales (old peculiar, old speckled hen, any Wychwood) and Whiskey..... both Whiskey and Whisky. Although it makes me hella violent.

12% is quite excessive spud - the most I've come across is 7.5% Christmas beer in London, and that was bad enough. It actually tasted like Christmas pudding by the end of the glass.

Where are you from, SpudBoy? New Glarus makes such good stuff. And if we already had this discussion earlier in the thread, please forgive me. I'm drinking the aforementioned gin and tonics by the gallon.
SpudBoy Posted - 06/11/2004 : 20:05:41
I dig Bell's Amber, Red Stripe, Guinness, Chimay, Duvel, Tanner's Jack, and the Uff-Da (New Glarus). My favorite, however, is a honey-wheat trappist that I brew at home - light, very drinkable, and clocking in at an average 12% alc/vol. In pints. Ya sissies.

What a jukebox! I'd think I'd died and gone to jukebox heaven

If we know for sure that rock ’n’ roll is truly the devil’s music—at least he fucking jams! And if it’s a choice between good tunes and eternal damnation, or eternal heaven and New Kids on the Fucking Block... I’m gonna be surfing on the Lake of Fire, rocking out
klikger Posted - 06/11/2004 : 00:29:42
Amstel Light in the bottle is good, man.

And my fave bar in town has a jukebox that is connected to the internet, and it can download tracks that it doesn't already have. And you can also pay a little more and have your songs played right away. I played Alec Eiffel last time I was there; gonna check for Catholics stuff next time.

It's a done deal! could work out expensive though

You know what I think what cruel is? Leaving your loved ones to die in some sterile hospital room surrounded by strangers. Fuck that! Put 'em in the movies! Whaaat? Do you want your grandmother dying like a little bird in some hospital room? Her translucent skin so thin you can see her last heartbeat work its way down her blue veins?

Or do you want her to meet Chuck Norris?

come to our local, they've got DTTP and the Omen soundtrack on the Jukey...

Beer is indeed a cool cool thing...

Can't drink girly bottled drinks,, too sweet and sickly and ick. If I'm going for a long haul I can't peak on spiris too early, can't stand whisky/bourbon drinks after a serious session mixing them with baileys and champagne cocktails (can't drink baileys any more either) Cider (all bar scrumpy) is the devils own piss and don't like white wine but red wine makes me mean and fussy...

So I'm one of those oh-so-classy girls you find in the pub with a big lagery pint in hand chain smoking and pumping the jukebox full of cash even when the only decent song in it is by David Bowie...

Pryamid makes a killer Apricot beer

My favorite beer (holding the title still as the forum drunk), cold, preferably cold.

Right now it's Heineken or Peroni in the bottle, or Amstel lite (on draft only, can't stand that shit in a bottle)...
klikger Posted - 06/10/2004 : 00:34:36
Tre, I like you. :) And beer is SO 1990's. Tanqueray and tonic, baby.

Don't forget Black Water Stout from WV Brewing. It's so dark it'll stain your glass.

Cherry beer, that sounds yummy.
Probably can't get it here though I bet.

hmm, now this is what i call a good topic!

current favs include the Alaskan Smoked beer - it is just unbelievably good
Greenwich Meantime Pub white beer, and their chcoclate beer - fucking fab
and soo many English Ales & Bitters to mention.
Monteiths Golden - a new zealand beer...yum yum.
Mikes Mild Ale - another nz beer - brewed just round the corner from my home, and it's topnotch.

am actually off to a beer festival tommorrow.
just this 1 pub one, but it's a cracker with over 60 beer and ciders.
went last saturday and it was soo good, am going again.

one thing i can't fathom is why Fosters is so popular in the UK.
it is utter rubbish.
but you have to give their marketers some credit for turning a below average australian beer, which no-one in australia actually drinks, into the 2nd most popular beer in the UK.

Rolling Rock. I started drinking it because back when I started going to see live bands at Graffiti(now defunct)in Pittsburgh around 1987, it cost less than anything else. Just got used to it.

I keep telling people, I don't have a photo of myself. On the computer at least. Maybe I'll bring one back from SA... I can just picture myself standing in front of Table Mountain, with some silly sort of Crocodile Dundee hat, sunglasses and a couple of weeks beard growth.

Actually, lets take a poll: should I grow some facial fuzz while away? It would save taking a razor...
