I have brought them up many times here but don't think I ever started a topic for them. They are broken up now b/c the lead singer became "born again" (how sad) but they made some kicking music. My favorite songs are NEED YOU AROUND, STAR STRUCK ONE, PRETTY PATHETIC, YOU SPOKE TO ME (about Morrisey) and GOTTA KNOW RIGHT NOW.

Wait a second... Destination Failure is live? I find that a bit hard to believe. I don't know a lot about Smoking Popes just a band that I really enjoy the music of. What is their complete discography anyways?

Yeah, I love the Live CD too. It could almost be sold as a BEST OF CD b/c like you said, the quality is really good and it contains a lot of their best songs. I think DESTINATION FAILURE is a pretty perfect CD, and I love their cover of PURE IMAGINATION from Willy Wonka. |

destination failure is very good. i am also a big fan of smoking popes: live. that cd sounds excellent for a live cd and the songs on that are just about all of my favorite smoking popes songs.
and now i'm living in the cold but i'm looking for the sign |

Ha! Wow - I didn't mean it like that - I should have realized that my wave of tiredness could easily be construed as having a direct correlation to my conversation of the Spoking Popes albums. Maybe I did get tired by thinking about SP albums, but I'm pretty sure it was just a coincedence.
How good of an album is Destination Failure anyway?

That's odd because I always heard and believed You Spoke to Me was about Jawbreaker and Blake seemed like it was anyway. Smoking Popes were very into the Jawbreaker sound but still a great band on their own merit I love the one-two punch of the first two songs on Destination: Failure and Let's Hear it for Love is great too.
