What do you guys think of the new Modest Mouse album? I think it is pretty soild! The Devil's Work Day sounds a bit like a Tom Waits tune. There are a lot of great songs on this album. What do you guys think? My favorite song on first listen is World at Large but there are many good songs. |

Good News is an awesome album, I'm listening to it right now... I picked it up when it came out on Tuesday, and have listened to all of it at least once every day since. It's pretty brilliant. Bury Me With It has been in my head for a couple weeks. Black Cadillacs just came on, it's an excellent song as well. I like the direction Isaac Brock is going in with this record as well as the Ugly Casanova one.

and they're just a cool band that quite a few people around here like... check out trailer trash or 3rd planet if you want to hear what they're like... they're prob my fave songs...

OK two questions.
Firstly, what the hell is that THING on that link to modestmouse.com? It looks like Grover from Seaseme Street after a bloody fight and lots of drugs!!! Quite scary really.
Secondly, who the hell are Modest Mouse?!?!?! I have heard them mentioned on here so many times that I am beginning to wonder if there is some sort of Frank Black link. What are they like? Where are they from? Who do they sound like? How long have they been going?
OK that's 4 extra questions and I probably will have more to come but I just feel curious about all this Modest Mouse talk. I assume they must be good if people with such good musical tastes (sometimes ) love them so much.

it's been online i think. and how do you know they are recent, the ones they knew? there's some imported stuff on amazon... anyone know which label they're signed to over here?

weel, it just said..its in the shop now, and when i saw them, people from the uk seemed to know all the recent songs...so..i figured it was out here..
