Actually Daniel Smith plays from inside a 12' tall papier-mache tree when he performs with the band, too. It's called the "Tree of Life". There used to be a great pic of it on the internet but I can't find it at the moment.

I totally love the Danielson Famile. Daniel Smith's new record was supposed to be released yesterday, but it's been posponed to June or July, can't remember. Check out the Secretly Canadian website.
I also saw them in concert and it was amazing. I'd like to see Daniel Smith solo, he plays disguised as a tree.

Love their stuff. Been listening to them for quite awhile.
Very original and different.

I have seen them live twice. Good shows. I saw them about 4 or 5 years ago, and I wasn't much into them then. But I'm sure I'd enjoy them now. Thanks for reminding me of this band. I should pick up one of their albums.

They actually are family too. And if I remember, there are two cute girls in the band.

Yeah, I have. They're a Christian band, believe it or not, but not in the conventional sense, by any standards. I'm not familiar with a lot of their music, but what I've heard is pretty interesting, very quirky indie-pop sort of thang...
Produced by Steve Albini, btw.
