Amazing!!!!!!
The bestr fucking festival I have EVER been to! nearly every band I saw (until sunday) was absouloutely brilliant!!!!!
And I spoke to Vincent Gallo (man, hes even hotter in real life), and PJ Harvey was there with vincent! and i was sitting inches away from her!!!
I asked malkmus to marry me, and he said 'yeah, absoloutely'!!!! woohooo!!
I was standing right in front of sonic youth, and my god amazing. PLus i saw Jim o ' rourke and thurston play in a band a few hours prev - double action unit!! check em out.astounding.
I will return and give full rundown of the bands, highs and lows later on, but i gotta go to work right now!

IM sure they will be doing some more touring...probably late this year early next year.
Sonic Youth cant stop now! well, i guess if they did, at least i can say i saw them!!

I don't understand why Sonic Youth wouldn't tour the UK to promote the new album. I know it won't be in June because they're in OZ and they are playing Lollapoloza (sp?) in the Summer but they could tour during the autumn. And the news about this being the last tour is very worrying.
They are getting on a bit now, maybe they're going to call it a day. I hope not though, they always seem to really enjoy the touring ad i thought they would go on 'til they drop. |

When i saw them last year i was quite shocked how old Kim and Lee looked. mind you, they've been going for 20 odd years and Kim is 50 so what can you expect?, they still rock! |

Absoloutely beautiful. The drummer in this band is ground breaking, really absoloutely amazing.He was doing stuff with those drumsthat id never seen done before...The guitarists were also of absoloute astounding quality, using little box nose thing, and she was singing through her guitar...all fo themcompletely utilised there instruments as an extention of themselves

The best guitar band from SF since The Thinking Fellars. Twin Tone axe blood, we need to learn from Deefhoof
Superb. Female vocalist, really really small chinese girl (maybe japanese..not sure), with very cute voice. The best stage performance i have seen in a long time. at one point she pulled out a knitted bananna and strawberry and was dancing with them. didnt smile once. ONe of there songs was totally ripped off of the Who...but good stuff. The sound gyuys on the main stage musta like them, they kept playing their album over over over over over again....
Enon
A totally self sufficient band, and I would call them 'underrated' if rock was sports and I was chris Blackwell. The drummer plays disco beats way convincingly
All I remember of this band was that they had very loud, very appealing guitars, and they were all good looking.I shall find some stuff by them tho...it was just really good guitar driven stuff...

er, malkmus, gallo, thurston, and jonny greenwood are my exceptions, and im having ricci aswell. ha.
yes, gallo did play. quite good, there was 3 of them, and they just sorta jammed. just one long jam. was really funny.

yeah, but i don't think the 2nd weekend was as good as the first.
however, considering i only went to the first i might be biased.
but the mogwai boys went to both and said the first was better, but only just...so i win.
