Homer's Pet Monkey is absolutely right. No, I'm not being sarcastic. I'm acting my age, hell, maybe even worse. I can't really stand people my age and I'm becoming more and more like them everyday. So, before I go off on anyone else I'll just do the respectable thing: Leave.
I seriously enjoyed this forum...Wish I could leave on a better note, but hey, that's my fault. So...

I really don't see why my post in the "Cobain, Cobain and more Cobain" thread caused such a stir. My interpretation was very logical to me, and as I've found out, to other people too. And please...I'm the one who's insulting? "Penguin-Whore" was as sarcastic as sarcastic can be. I am sorry, however, for ever mentioning that I was annoyed by you, HPM. That was uncalled for and I certainly wouldn't have said anything more if you hadn't asked me to tell you why. What I gave you was 99.8% sarcasm. But really..."Penguin-Whore" is absolutely nothing compared to "Immature loser with no life who has serious problems". I was just sick of your "greater than thou" attitude. Also, did I ever say this was ruining my life or even effecting me in real life? Talk about jumping to conclusions. You got even more upset than I did. If I did anything to hurt your feelings, though, I really am sorry and would like to make amends.
I did act on the "penguin-whore" idea, though. I'm not skilled enough to make a penguin a whore so I made the penguin the pimp. I hope that this will lighten the mood. I give you "Pimpin' Penguin in the City With His One Dollar Whore".

This is patently ridiculous. Nathan should come back because the altercation that he got into with HPM is way tamer than some of the others I've seen (and been involved in.) I don't think anyone owes anyone else an "apology" because it's not like we'll all be meeting for tea-and-crumpets tomorrow come tea-time. It's a message board. I'm sure that many of the people on here are different in real life than they are with the help of internet anonymity.
Crouton, come back, post if you want, if you don't that's fine. I thought you were a pretty cool guy. Homer's Pet Monkey, you seem all right too; you and crouton's argument didn't seem anywhere near a swimmer-level debacle. Seems as though things could be resolved.

Cruton, why make an entire thread saying you're leaving the forum? You already said "goodbye" in the Cobain thread that got this conflict started, Cruton. Unless I'm totally misinterpreting the evidence with which I support my claim, you couldn't just leave without drawing attention to yourself. And then you claim you do the 'respectable' thing.
I used to enjoy the posts of Nathaniel, but I couldn't tolerate the level of ignorance in the Cobain thread. It's a simple matter of making a powerful claim without having substantial evidence. What makes Nathan think that he is able to know what Homer's Pet Monkey is thinking? Until Nathan apologizes directly to HPM for the ignorant and presumptuous behavior, I don't want him back.
But I do want Nathan to apologize and come back to the forum because Nathan has a lot of good qualities, and I enjoy his interesting knowledge about John Vanderslice and Bawls.
This is depressing. I think I'm gonna go read VoVat's lyrics to "I Want to Live on an Abstract Plain" again.

My god Carolynanna, that reminds me of that really bad soap opera from the 80's.
What was it called now? Days Of Our Lives? Something like that anyway. It was truely aweful and not something I wanted reminding of thankyou.

At the end of the day Crouton I meant what I said when I said I liked you. You used to be OK before today. I actually agreed with a lot you would post. But today you have really lost it. You probably won't see it, but you owe me an apology. I don't want it unless you mean it but you have been out of order. If you are not going to offer it then maybe you should leave but it will be a shame 'cos like I said (again), I thought you were OK.
It's just really sad when a forum on the internet can make people like this.
I am willing to forget about all of this but I do want a genuine apology 'cos I think you owe me one. I have faith in you as basically a good enough person to realise this.
