Posted - 04/04/2004 : 00:42:17 Anyone loved that TV series? A translated version was shown over here, titled Good Morning Alaska. Fortunately the English soundtrack was transmitted simultaneously over the radio. How many seasons did the show run for eventualy? I saw the first two seasons but then my TV got stolen and I never bothered to get a new one for another five years or so. By then Northern Exposure was gone.

Posted - 04/04/2004 : 09:06:09 I've checked out the show on IMDB, it aired from '90 to '95. I loved Maggie's character but my favorite was Marilyn. Check out the IMDB info on Maggie. The picture of her is pretty bad though.

The first season will be released on DVD in June. I've pre-ordered one!

Posted - 04/04/2004 : 08:22:40 I loved Northern Exposure. I definetly agree about the last episodes though - they weren't great. I liked (and clearly remember) the one when Fleishmann dreamed (or hallaucinated?) that all the regulars were with him in New York. Maurice was a big wig, I think, and Hollis was the doorman. Something like that...
Has anyone seen the actress who played Maggie recently? She is on a series of commercials here and she looks like a man in drag. She used to be so cute and lovely! |

Posted - 04/04/2004 : 01:33:33 I liked that show pretty well. The episodes toward the end of the series (where Fleishmann had left, and Maggie O'Connel and Chris started their little fling) were kind of stupid. I also remember one episode where Maurice and some guy were going to have a duel and everyone was trying to talk them out of it. Towards the end of the episode, they finally just said, "well, you can't have a duel because one of you would die and that's not the kind of television show this is. The viewers would never believe it." Very odd. Overall an enjoyable show. When was it that it ended? Mid-90's?
