Posted - 03/24/2004 : 08:52:40 Don't know how big they are, four years ago they did their debut albums UNITED, wich had big hits like If I Ever Feel Better, Funky Square-Dance (vocoded country, hip hop bridge, fade to 80's metal) and Too Young (soundtrack on Lost in Translation, at the japanese party).
Now they did their always-difficult-second-album, Alphabetical, and it's excellent. Highligths: Everything Is Everything (French response to "Hey Ya"), Run,Run,Run (folk meets HipHop meets 80's), Love For Granted and Victim Of The Crime.
I only listen to that for one week (and Smile 2004 bootleg!)
Check out their site and videos at http://www.wearephoenix.com

Phoenix are way more cooler than Air, they do more classic songs.
I'm a Tahiti 80 fan, they're great live.
yeah, i liked them when i saw them! they gave me a signed copy of their last album, says something like "thanks for lending us your guitar, see you soon" - i leant them my acoustic guitar so they could do a radio session when my dad promoted them... cool guys.
