"Mad Dawg
Please cease with the incessant spamming. 70-80% of your posts on
FB.Net have some link to your various wares and it sets a bad precedent for others. Consider this a friendly and private warning that you are not under any circumstances to post another message with links, references, allusions, or hints to your products, auctions, personal webpages, etc. Set your homepage in your profile, and add additional "cool links" if you so choose, but no more links posted on the forum.
Thanks,
Dean"

Dean, I'm not going to count but I think your math is a little off.
Whatever, thank you ever so much for allowing me the shameless self promotion for so long. I will be forever grateful and always maintain a special place in my heart for this sites part in making me the living legend that I've become since posting here.

According to my webmaster I did get one sale from someone who linked from this site. (Do I owe Frank a commission?). I figured it was the Greek Geek or French Fanatic trying to purchase something that might help them catch the "cool" but the product shipped to Canada. I wonder why they didn't share openly about their purchase? Whoever it was, you have my special blessing.

BTW Dean, have you ever done anything noteworthy or are you attempting to achieve greatness in any areas? I would be glad to offer you my advice free of my normal consulting charge should you feel like sharing.

I'm considering contacting Frank to play at a festival I will be promoting this summer in San Diego. For more info click on..... uhhhhh never mind.

Agreed BrokenFace. I think the reason my family and friendships have been intact so long is because I put them first.

BLT, where did you get that picture of those troubled youths? I recognize both of them from our concerts. (they probably snuck in!) Exceptional skaters. I've often wondered why people raised in other parts of the country and world just can't seem to skate like the home boys.

Malax this thread can't live without you. Your noteworthy accomplishments have been a pleasure reading. I really feel like I know you now.

According to Malax, the forum psychic who knows what I'm thinking, (biggest idiot so far) you aren't even interested in me or stories. Are you just asking the questions to start an argument?

Anyway, as for the attendance it's kind of a funny story. I instructed our security (Wille and Skip from the famous biker gang) to take over the door. The bouncers were terrified of them and let them do whatever they wanted. We would cram the clubs full, (whisky Roxy and Starwood) people on top of people. Sometimes the fire marshall did show up. The only place to get a ticket was the Starwood. The cops actually put tear gas in the air vent on the roof to clear the building. This, and a couple of our riots, were pretty well documented in the LA times.
Or, you can ask Mario, the dude who owns the Whisky and the Roxy. I went in there a couple of years ago to say hi. He bought me dinner etc and reminded me of some funny stories. He claims bands pay him to play there now. Pretty strange huh? He didn't use to give us much. The most he ever paid us was 5 grand, which he claimed was twice what he paid ANYONE else. They were fun clubs to play back then though and it wasn't about the money. Our performance in URGH was shot at the Whisky. (Was anyone else here in Urgh?)

The skateboard thing was in 1976 in Ocean City Maryland. I have a pretty cool framed picture of me on the front page of the paper getting my award. I didn't win the freestyle/trick thingy. (I placed 3rd). I won the downhill. Pretty good performance considering I borrowed a chicks skate and hadn't skated in a couple of months (was recovering from a broken arm)
If you're a skater you might have heard of Jay Adams. He grew up at the bottom of the hill I lived on. I would imagine I'm the first human he ever saw on a skateboard.

Oh well, I'm getting bored talking about myself and so far none of you seem to have anything to talk about. Have a nice weekend.

Not only am I psychic I can write rhetorically, (without the question marks)your a waste of time. Your responses are useless, you repeat the same shit all the time. Im finished with this topic.

As for noteworthy I don't think it has anything to do with living up to ones potential. I think that would have more to do with self esteem. To me noteworthy would be things other people notice and talk/write about.

the band, for now, is for fun. if anything happens, great. if not, so be it. its a good excersize to tune up my songwriting/performance abilities.

as for the people taking note - i think this depends as well. there have been thousands of bands that have sold out small clubs yet 5 years later no one remembers a damn thing about them - at the time people took notice, but it was fleeting. the only people it matters if you touch are the people you care about, since they're the only ones who will be around for your whole life. i never claim to have the most exceptional life here, nor would i want it. i just want to be happy and live a good life - and if the people around me, who i love/car about, notice that, cool. if you don't live for yourself and your friends/family, you live for no one.

Mad Dawg, please read this carefully:

I don't think that even 1/4 of the people on this forum (due strictly to statistics) will make it to the point where they are "noteworthy" by your standards, where many people talk or write about them. That is just being realistic. Who knows? I could be wrong. But even if I'm right, why should they worry so much about it? Not everyone is meant to be famous. I highly doubt that I will ever be. I don't consider that to be a shortcoming. You specifically do seem to be obsessed with being "noteworthy" and sometimes it comes across as your being desparate to be accepted by what is to you (perhaps) a more valid crowd than anybody else. ("anybody else" being the people who have not done anything "noteworthy.") Is that the highest trait by which you value someone?

Take me, break me, tell me a good one and maybe I'll cry

TheCroutonFuton Posted - 03/20/2004 : 23:25:05
Oooooh...I understand now. You're an attention whore...and the only moments that are noteworthy in your life are times when other people noticed you? That's very sad, actually. You can't live life thinking that the only important things you've accomplished are things that people comment on. If you judge your life from someone else's point of view...well...that's pathetic, really.

I'm happy for you being proud of who you are Broken Face. And, You're 100% correct. It would be hard to imagine that the anonymous little gadflies that were attacking me have much to be proud of. Perhaps that's why they chose to remain anonymous keyboard heros despite my self disclosure (posted my website, with pictures) and repeated attempts at figuring out who/what posted here. By the way, who are you? Have you done anything noteworthy or are you plannng such?

El Barto I think your perception of me as a "holier then thou" stems from some sort of self esteem/insecurity problem you, and seemingly many others here are suffering. Once again, I introduced myself and wondered who/what everyone else here did/was doing. I didn't know it was a fantasy website where self disclosure was frowned upon.

After re-reading some of the threads I started I would like to apoligize for lumping in people that haven't even posted responses to me in the same catagory as the 5 or 6 forum idiots I initially chose to communicate with. I'm sure Frank has herds of fans that don't suffer from justifiably low self esteem and are proud of who they are and what they have done/are doing with their lives.
El Barto Posted - 03/20/2004 : 21:18:21
It's one thing to accomplish such feats in your life. It's another to have accomplished them and not be a 'holier than thou' prick such as yourself. Accomplishments don't make you who you are. Your personality and the way you put yourself forth makes you, and you surely seem to be lacking in that department. Perhaps someday you can add "being a decent human being" to your list of noteworthy accomplishments; or is that too much of a stretch?

Skateboarding Jiu-Jitsu, who gives a shit really (thats if you are even telling the truth. I won the leading goalscorer medal in the 1997/98 5-aside football tournament. You think anyone cares except the people who were there, or me. No. Noteworthy? to me and about 4 other people in 1998. As with all the cunts who post here as soon as people catch on that your a waste of time, you will be ignored and you will disappear. You think I'll be thinking, oh man I wish that guy who had done all that cool stuff still posted here. Now if you were in a punk band that I gave a shit about, then maybe. As you weren't, well.....

also, for the sake of argument (which it seems like that's all you want to do here), how can you hold the capacity record at a music venue? isn't there a maximum capacity, and, if a venue sells out, it has reached it's maximum capacity? i'm sure every venue in LA sells out at least once a month..

can you explain how that's possible?
