America doesn't want anything to do with this embarassment of a nation. The lousiest country in the Western Hemisphere, and that's saying something. We don't want to invade or rule Haiti, we just wish it would go away, far away.

This "coup" is pure fabrication, exploited by black American politicians.

Frankly I'd like to think he was forced onto the plane. I have this fantasy image of an American sergeant giving this loser a swift kick in the ass. What a fucked up country!

Erubus! You sound like a fucking Nazi! Your red neck mentality is better suited for monster truck rallys. When you speak it's sounds, and most likely smells, like oral flatulence! Someone needs to give you a swift kick in the taco!

Thanks for the chuckles. If anybody wants to assassinate me, I plan on being at the Mar 24 Fairfax "Breeders" show, sporting brown shirt and swastika armband.

For those blind mice who want to believe the rantings of Aristide, here is the truth. Note the corroboration from Aristides own security detail.

Sorry folks, I know how BADLY some of you wanted to think that the US and French kidnapped the crook. Everyone here conveniently leave out the French who were at least equal partners in saving Aristide from the crowds who wanted to put his head on a stake.

The truth is out there...

Cult of Frank, you are definitely not the only one that feels that way about the media. I assume your question as to why it even exists is a rhetorical one, because it is obviously a means to an end, but not to the end it claims.

I trust what Aristide purports to be the truth of the situation as much as I trust any other voice coming from our own representative politicians, State Department and the rest -not at all. Believe what you want to believe, might makes right. Democratic (not the party, the Constitutional ideal) duty of descension won't get very far without unbiased/unedited information.

The nugget of substance that may reach the media's radar is that the precedent here is another dangerous one for United States' foreign policy image. It seems hypocritical to claim we have made war to provide democratic stability to freedom-loving peoples, when we remove (through coersion or cooperation, it doesn't matter one whit) a democratically-elected leader.

Another soon-forgotten debacle of so-called "democracy seeding" in our very long history of deposing democratically-elected leaders and installing our own tyrants or figureheads. Democracy until it bothers us.

It's not like we really need to reach to make him look like an idiot, he does that all on his own - every single day.

I find reading sites such as the above as frustrating and at times infuriating as watching the news. Skewed left wing perspective or skewed right. Admittedly, I tend to be more upset with the right wing media because it's the prevalent and 'reputable' source, but just give me the damn facts without your station's politics to push your agenda down my throat. Instead, we're left with these ugly options:

1) Blind faith - Believing that your source for news is unbiased. To hell with that.

2) Interpolation - Taking information from multiple sources and estimating the truth as some midpoint or average.

3) Ignorance - Realizing that you don't have a bloody clue what's really going on behind the scenes and wondering why it is that these so called 'news' outlets are around when they don't even deliver the product they claim to. If I want entertainment, I'll watch a sitcom or movie on your station. When I want news, I want somewhere to go where I'm not assumed to be a naive 12 year old.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

The only thing more pathetic than the report of this "coup" is A.N.S.W.E.R. itself. Just how low will you guys go?
