Intelectual genius, mystical philosopher, master of the English language...What else can be said? The guy is a true genius. I just finished a book of his essays on religion and it's really gotten me interested in mysticism. I even got my new favorite quote from one of the essays (see profile). Well I've actually only read this collection off essays entitled "Huxley and God", Brave New World, and this movie script sort-of thing called Jacobs Hands, all of which I've thoroughly enjoyed. Anyways, I've got a little extra money and my local bookstore has Crome Yellow and Island. Any reccomendations for which one I should get? Anyone else like Huxley?

He was also something of a political philosopher too - he wrote a book called 'Ends And Means' which outlines his views on human nature and the arrangement of political institutions which best encourage the well-being of all.

I'm pretty sure Brave New World was written well before he started doing LSD.

Is it true that "Brave New World" was written under the influence of LSD?

I've read a bit of Huxley, and it's the kind of thing that I know I'll end up reading a lot more of when time allows. I'm not sure whether you've seen it yet, but this is a very good website:

I think it's official (his estate?) but I don't really remember; I've spent more time gleaning the content than learning who licensed it.

Nothing is ever something.

I love Huxley. I've read numerous essays and Brave New World, although haven't gotten to Chrome Yellow. Ape and Essence is great too, kind of a film script as well.

Well, I have not read any of his literature, but he definitely has quite a reputation among renowned scholars and literature enthusiasts.
