OK this is totally superficial and in no particular order. I'll let you girls start one for the boys!!!

Karen O (Yeah Yeah Yeahs)
Kim Deal
VV (The Kills)
Amanda Tannen (Stellastarr*)
Brodie Dahl (The Distillers)
Melanie Campbell (Burning Brides)
Debbie Harry (not now)
Melissa Auf Der Maur (Ex-Hole and Smashing Pumpkins, now solo)
Wendy James (Transvision Vamp)
Carrie Smith (Von Bondies)

Boy do I love girls with guitars!!! (I know not all of the above play guitars).

Lo! I have become death!

I must admit that as a male, especially when I was a teenager, there were plenty of times when a woman's music probably sounded better to me because she was extremely attractive. My main fascination with Veruca Salt wasn't so much their music, even though there were some good songs, as much as it was, "Wow, those chicks play guitars, and they're hot. Mmmmmm, hot chicks with guitars." Sadly, I still have that mentality, to an extent. I mean, I'll listen to female artists, like Cat Power, Throwing Muses or Dar Williams, and I'll listen to it as music and not as hot chicks playing music, but it still lingers and lurks in the back of my mind somewhere. I just innately have a strong instinct to want to impregnate hot female musicians, I suppose. As a man who possess the evil sperm which makes my mind function in a manner where that is all I can think about until I evacuate the sperm from my body, I often wish I had detachable nuts so I could view the world and women in particular without having that intention to impregnate them strapped on me like a burden. And if I had detachable nuts, I wouldn't have to cum to free myself of those feelings for, oh, an hour or two. Cuz I love women so much, far beyond the base urges, but so often that base urge is in control.

The point of the thread wasn't really that clearly defined in the first place. I would imagine that some of the females mentioned in this thread are seen as hot BECAUSE they're talented, though. That happens sometimes.

Couldn't think of 10, or even five. Steak N Sabre beat me to the Siouxsie punch.

I love how this quickly, and quite appropriately, turned into a "chicks you think are hot" thread. Since it has nothing to do with their rocking ability anyway, I nominate Charlize Theron.

The great thing about Charlotte is (other than her looks - by the way I saw Ash live once and she was wearing some very attractive net stockings) her songs. She actually doesn't write that many for Ash, but the ones that she does contribute to are normally Ash's best songs - for example, "Shark" (which has an awesome and chorus; I read in an interview that Charlotte wrote the chorus and Mark wrote the rest or something like that...the point is that I LOVE odd meters/time signatures and this song's got one because of Charlotte's awesomeness), "Taken Out", and "Projects". Debbie Harry is a good choice, too.

Wait.....I just saw that Mike (Churchouse) said it was supposed to be totally superficial. Well, Charlotte would probably still make the list even if she were not a writer of excellent music.

I am going to see her on Friday. They are playing a really small gig in Preston (England). I have seen them 3 times before and they are excellent live. Projects is indeed an excellent song, up there with Numbskull. They played a couple of new tracks the last time I saw them, about a year ago and they sounded really good. One in particular, Evil Eye, was excellent. Can't wait to see them again.

Hey IceCream!!! The gig last night was absolutely amazing!!! To see them in such a small venue (basically a small-ish nightclub) was fantastic. They never fail to blow me away whenever I see them, and their knew stuff is very good, a lot heavier!!!

Also got 'hit on' by some girl mid-mosh which was weird. She wouldn't leave me alone!!! I was too high on Ash to go for the kill, but I've no regrets!!!

The DJ played 'Is She Weird' just before they came on too, which was nice seeing as I had my 'Planet Of Sound' t-shirt on!!!

Yeah, what IS wrong with you people. Patti's the gretaest.

The Jen Trynin mention earlier was a good one. Too often she goes unappreciated.

I think we should all be giving more love to Corin Tucker. Specially after see said this:

What makes you want to take it off and get it on?: The Pixies, Marvin Gaye, mix tapes

taste and talent. a leathal combination. Man I love sleater-kinney.

I want to be a singer like Lou Reed

"Us?" asked Oedipa.
