I certainly do not want to disrespect any of our forum members in the UK, but I do want to ask about this.
Why is this a big deal? What does it mean? Why is this person still in the news so much? Is it just UK version of Kardashian or something?

I didn't watch the Oprah interview but my wife summarized it for me. Big-time "yikes!"

So basically Meghan Markle, the American former actress, decided to marry Prince Harry. They decided they don't want to live a royal life and so have decided to renounce their royal duties and move to Canada. So now, because she is black (and don't let anybody try and tell you any different) people have decided this is outrageous and she is poison. It's a witch-hunt, something our press and many members of our public love to participate in.
Good luck to them I say - there should be no royal family anyway.
