Posted - 10/23/2017 : 02:30:17 I’d be interested in hearing everyone’s recommendations for some good Halloween viewing this month.
I’d prefer films that are scary or creepy as opposed to gory or bloody.
I’ll give two to get started, and they both got poor reviews but I enjoyed them for what they were.
First is a film called Coherence. It’s a good parallel universe / doppelgänger type of movie, that really creeps up on you. I really enjoyed it.
Second, believe it or not, is a flick called Cell with John Cusack and Samuel Jackson (and Stacy Keach!). It’s based on a Stephen King book and it’s basically a riff on the whole zombie apocalypse motif. The reviews are putrid (it actually got held back from being released for two years because of studio issues) but I actually enjoyed it a lot.
I’d love to hear what movies creep you out that maybe I haven’t seen yet. |

I think that was good. I can't really remember.

Sure you've seen most of these (some more silly / funny rather than creepy) though Audition still freaks me out and love Jacobs Ladder to this day.

Posted - 10/25/2017 : 23:17:19 It Follows is quite a good recent horror. There's loads of horror films coming out these days and most of them are terrible, but this one isn't. Also has a nice 80's feel to it. |

It's a pretty recent movie but it has kind of an 80's feel/aesthetic to it. Also the story is kind of a mystery up until the end and it kind of builds up as it goes. One of my favorite horror movies in recent times. |
