I check in every month or so. I don't see a lot of activity. Social media seems to have largely killed message boards.

I don't know. How many songs can you write without burning out or repeating yourself or getting boring?
The two solo decades of Frank's career were pretty chocka, and varied. What else can you do after that, go back to your roots maybe. Take a breather. The energy and stamina this man has put in to songwriting.
FMRM is a great album, and one of my favourites. It was released right around the point where I finally got round to getting into Frank's solo material, the process facilitated by my acquisition of a 2GB iPod in 2007, and since I had no money then or much mp3s I filled it with the podcasts and discovered great new Frank Black music there.
I had a listen to a few tracks on Nonstoperotik the other night. I don't know what people think of it but I like it, it's a weird album. I have no idea what the concept behind it is, but it was kind of unexpected to get album that had such a direct reference to sex.
I love the track Rabbits, it's got a nice harpsichord-like arpeggio in it. Not sure what he used there, maybe a synth?

Head Carrier was released a year ago. They're still touring behind it. It seems like it'll take a while.
Also the Breeders new album is in limbo, as every new Breeders material seems to be.
Strange, I was listening to FMRM this morning, thinking how lucky we were back then to have a new FBF album almost every year. It now feels like new songs from the man will be available every couple of years, maybe. Or just stop appearing altogether. Sad. |

Great to see you Solidgld! It is very quiet compared to 2002/3 when it was bustling with people, great chit chat. Would be cool to get back to those glory years.
