I have been mucking about with my system for quite a while in search of that "sound"...

came by a marantz 4240 which is quadraphonic so figured i needed to pick up more speakers. The unit was a little rough and is +currently getting serviced, been there a month now, and i grabbed what I now know will not be my last pair of speakers. While i wait for the marantz i've hooked up the new speakers as remotes. my original speakers are Paradigms that i've loved for soooo long; and this pair i just got were some vintage Yamahas. anyways, long story short, 2 sets of speakers, especially with the differences in character sound 20 times better together than either pair alone. the Paradigms look after the low end so well and the Yamahas seem to bring the singer right into my living room! i just had TMBGs Flood on and during "women and men" i could have sworn the 2 Johns were in the romm with me. bliss.

now neither pair of speakers will run anyone the cost of the repair bill alone on my amp; i suggest this method if you do not already use it to greatly improve the quality of any medium. i sure hope i just didnt luck out in the speakers combo cause i think i will have to get 2 sets for the rear on the marantz. d'oh!
