Art Brut - Edinburgh 10/8/13
That was one mother fucker of a gig last night! All I can say is if you get the chance to go and see this band #ArtBrut then do, they were fucking amazing. Sound was great, good connection with the crowd, proper fucking rock and roll music, they all looked like they were enjoying it all more than we were (the crowd), great atmosphere.
When we arrived Eddie was outside and walked past us and said hi, then for some reason he and Jasper were standing at the cloakroom on the way in, because they are that kind of band or something.
Couldn't attend any art brut gig without taking my whisky flask along with me of course, and on the way out Eddie was in the cloakroom again so I got him to sign it on the way out. Then as we were leaving the drummer (shit hot drummer btw!) and bassist were standing outside so stopped and chatted to them for a while, but they didn't have a pen and are from Germany. Then shortly after while were still outside Jasper appeared and I called out to him and asked him if he had a pen, which he didn't but he went back inside and got one and came out and also signed my flask which I thought was really nice. Ended up talking to 4 of the band members who all seem like a really lovely bunch of people.
Hopefully there will be some stuff coming up on youtube which I'll look out for and post.

Posted - 08/12/2013 : 03:51:59 Interesting to note the only other time I have been to a gig at the EC was in 2009 with my mate Nick (the one who looks like Bag Boy). He dragged me along to see this local band Jesus H Foxx who were supporting that he was into, and I happened to film some of it using my amazing camera skills.
Anyway I thought it was interesting because for some reason Nick decided to launch into this lo-fi mix of Good Weekend by Art Brut at the start of this song. You can see him with one of the members of Jesus H Foxx at 2m17s in so you can judge for yourself if you think he looks like Bag Boy lol

Posted - 08/11/2013 : 08:30:18 Yeah they're a really fun band to see Eddie was doing lots of talking although I couldn't make out what he was saying most of the time, and walking through the crowd, got everyone to sit down on the floor at one point for some reason.
I love the expressions on their faces, they all look so surprised all the time, especially the bassist she is so funny. I don't they played any news song (not sure) but I picked their brains a bit and apparently they have new material but yet to record it and they don't know if Frank will be producing it this time. (not much information I know)
Definately one of the coolest live bands around today.
Eddie Argos and his ex girlfriend are also doing a musical over the fringe every night so might try and catch that if it's not too dear..
