This reminds me of all the prostate awareness adds I hear on the radio. Yes, I listen to AM radio. "do you make frequent trips to the bathroom in the middle of the night?" "You may have an enlarged prostate". I don't know about my prostate but i chalk up frequent trips to the bathroom to the fact I drink a lot. Water beer coffee. As far as noise goes, I'm fortunate to live in a quiet neighborhood. I also work at night and sleep during the day. I am usually so tired by the time I lay down the only thing that really wakes me up are the sun's rays beaming into my room. An eye mask helps. I went through the whole black out curtains when I lived in my old apartment but realize now that my problem wasn't so much the sun as it was noise. Beyond the brick walls of my bedroom hummed the steady flow of motorists. Trucks carrying goods and garbage. Buses and cars. The train. I wasn't working as much as I needed and the sound of all that activity made the situation all the more obvious. I was slumbering while the rest of the world moved on with or without me.
Nowadays I sleep like a baby. I work hard, exersise when possible and drink good beer. |
