Posted - 01/26/2013 : 01:02:12 years ago i came down with what must have been some stomach virus, so i stayed home, hoping it would pass soon and trying to make myself comfortable, but feeling more and more nauseous as the day went on. then it came up on the radio, a local band's cover of Tommy Roe's Dizzy. i don't know if it was the timing of the sickness reaching its peak or the obnoxiously joyful chorus of the song, which in the cover version has even more annoying vocals and that felt like i was being force fed the entire band with their aggressive smiles and their instruments down my throat, with every sickening key change my strength was sucked out and my stomach went higher until one key change too many and i was filling the toilet bowl with breakfast. months after that, if the song came up on the radio, i felt weakness setting in and had to change the station or fight vomiting spasms before the end. now i can tolerate the original but still feel uneasy if i hear that cover, today i heard it again, for a few long seconds. is that just sick or does anyone else have this condition? |
