Posted - 10/21/2012 : 21:26:45 I hate Gano for some reason. I think the first Femmes LP is pretty good, don't know about the other ones, but all the most recent stuff I've heard by Gano bores me to death. The collaboration album with the FB track is soooo bad, it's almost funny. Except the FB track obviously.

Posted - 10/21/2012 : 12:27:17 It's between The Verve and the Violent Femmes for me but I think the Femmes just shade it. I've only really listened to them the last few months but their debut album instantly stands out as a classic and although I don't think they ever matched it, they still recorded enough decent (and some great) songs after.
Urban Hymns by The Verve deserves a mention though. Some good songs on that; Sonnet, Space and Time, Lucky Man...

I always thought they looked more like characters in a Hanna-Barbera cartoon than band members.

Voivod, they put out some unlistenable music, but just for Angel Rat.
The Vioent Femmes are really good, some of my favourite songs.
Have to give the nod to Voivod, 'cause VF will get votes. |
