Cardiacs were a unique band who've been mostly ignored since they formed in 1977. All their albums are out of print (although available on itunes). I only properly discovered them recently and (for me) their music is right up there with Pixies/FB - been listening to little else for weeks.

The music is hard to explain, some of it's quite bizarre and takes a while to 'get' but anyone who loves FB's unusual melodies/song structures should take to it. This article sums it up for me quite well. http://thequietus.com/articles/04192-why-a-heart-attack-must-not-arrest-the-cardiacs

Unfortunately singer/writer Tim Smith was left disabled after a heart attack & stroke a couple of years ago, hense the release of this tribute album.http://www.thegenepool.co.uk/items/597.htm
Proceeds go towards his continuing care.

Anyway, just wanted to share as I've been blown away by this old band I'd barely heard of before.

A few examples of their stuff for the unanitiated...
