I dunno I'll give it another whirl sometime. I don't like the title track anyway, it's just lame. I'd expect that kind of thing from the scissor sisters.

Midlake.... I don't got the first ep, too much other music out there to give it any more than 5 or 6 listens.

damn, that's a good list of songs!

Me too I thought the album was disappointing. Brian Eno is my favourite track though.

i may have to amend my list by adding "sit down, man" by das racist. seriously transcendent hip-hop. i'm also digging "animal style!" by el prez and look forward to getting my hands on the new big boi and curren$y.

Ha...saw two of your favorites as opening acts at two concerts I went to recently: Owen Pallett opened for The National, and Janelle Monae opened for Of Montreal. Both were really amazing.

Me too, it's so bad, it's actually good. Not top 10-good, but I'm interested again. I'll take this over her fake Avril Lavigne-fluff any day.

Can only think of top 7 guys, i'm blaming the crippling recession for stunting my music. Obviously completely an excuse as i downloaded the ret!! Not the golem though, hell no.
Same recession possibly inpires me to include heligoland which is pretty dark and dirty. But i like it for those reasons.

In no particular order

FB - Golem - very relevant Bill!! although possibly a 2009er??
Arcade Fire - The Suburbs
Gorillaz - Plastic Beach
Massive Attack - Heligoland
Drive by Truckers - The Big to do
The Fall - Your Future Our Clutter
Villager - becoming a jackal

By the way thanks for NSE comment Denis - i nearly laughed my tea through my nose.

I love The Golem and NSE, but they don't strike me as being very relevant. Will check your list later!
