Any fans in the vicinity?

I've sort of heard of Pale Saints, but because the internet wasn't around in my hey day I didn't really discover them properly.... until now!

Pale Saints are a spin off from Lush. Both are shoe gazing indie pop bands fronted by sexy chick on guitars.

The only thing I remember about Lush is this, but apparently (thanks to modern technology I have now discovered) they have a load of really great albums that are well worth checking out as well!

Pale Saints though are probably the best of the two, I'm just listening to Slow Buildings right now, what a great album.

Fuck the whole Brit pop scene, how dare it have usurped this genre in the late 90's!

I don't know about you, but I fucking love indie chicks on guitars.

Lush is one of my all-time favorite bands! Unfortunately I never got to see them live...only just became aware of them around the time the drummer passed on. I often fantasize about playing drums in a Lush reunion.

Been meaning to check out Pale Saints also. I've heard a couple early Lush demos with Meriel singing...a little different but not bad.

I think it's my favourite of the three I am listening to right now.

Went home last night and put on some of the Cranes stuff I downloaded on my computer and fell asleep, then woke up in the middle of the track Cloudless from the album Forever. What a great album! You know when you are in the semi conscious dream state and you hear music, and it takes on a whole new dimension and sounds totally amazing, kind of like that. I thought for a moment I had died and woken up in nirvana.

I remember hearing some stuff on the radio, probably John Peel or something and totally falling in love with them, but I never had the means to check out any of their stuff.

Thanks again for reminding me about this band, together we can overthrow the evil britpop empire.

I might look up Slow Buildings. Haven't heard that one.

Ah yes Cranes I remember liking them too.

Lush played at the QMU in Glasgow when I was at uni there, and stupid me didn't go and see them. I was too busy going to see Motorhead and shit like that for some reason. I also suffered a little from acne when I was younger.

Nirvana played there too in 1992 just before they became mega-famous, and The Breeders were the support act, and guess what I also didn't go and see them either...

Cheers for the heads up trobs, I'll try and look up some of their stuff as well.

I saw them back in the day too. It was great going to see these post-Pixies bands that were popping up. Lush, Pale Saints, Sidi Bou Said and Cranes were especially good and PJ Harvey too. Members of Lush were at the same uni as me and we'd go up and see them at the Town and Country Club just up the road. I played Scar by Lush, Wings of Joy by Cranes, The Comforts of Madness by Pale Saints and Broooch by Sidi Bou Said a lot back then.

I used to listen to Lush back in the day. I saw them at lala in 1992. Nice show, pretty voices and a nice sound. Can't believe it was almost 20 years ago!
