Thanks guys, for the info.

Yeah, coastline. I know what you mean by breakthroughs and walls.

I have been doing it a lot since October and it's really helped me a lot . It is pretty hard because you have to picture this image all the time of stuff that's happened to you. You start with the earliest (first) or the worst. For me it was both. It's hard, but it's really helped me think better about myself and know why I would let some people treat me certain ways.

It took me about three months but I finally got through my first and worst.

But then there's this thing about pre-verbal trauma now that my therapist says that you can try to imagine what you went through when you were a baby and even in the womb. I know that there was trauma there, too from what my mom has said, but it's just hard to have therapy I think for something you can't even remember at all or you've just heard about.

It's been really helpful, but as coastline says it's really expensive. My husband is great, he's seen the results and he's very supportive. I would have stopped if he wasn't so supportive.

I would recommend emdr over regular CBT therapy because I have been going off and on for about 15+ years because you can see the results so soon. But this pre verbal thing just seems a little out there for me. I really trust my therapist and she's very good. But like I said, it just seems a little out there and I wasn't sure if anyone has tried that part of EMDR. I have told her that it seems a little uncomfortable for me and we agreed to not do the pre-verbal yet, but I was just wondering if anyone else has tried it or knows someone who has.

I mean they had some breakthroughs but also hit some walls. Additionally, it was incredibly painful for them. My understanding is that it requires you to relive the shit in order to purge yourself of it. Not pleasant. Also, it cost them a fortune. But they've never had good health insurance.

Please pardon me, for these my wrongs.

my wife swears by it. she's been through a lot of shit and EMDR has really helped her get past a lot of hang ups and whatnot.

Just wondering, what were their mixed results?

My parents paid a fortune for it, with mixed results.

Please pardon me, for these my wrongs.
