Posted - 02/26/2010 : 05:20:48 So I just caught Cracker two nights in a row doing one of their "Acoustic Duo" tours. Its not exactly acoustic--David Lowery with an acoustic and Johnny Hickman with an electric. Its amazing how well their songs hold up in that format. I've seen them 10+ times, 3 of those shows were the duo format. I think I prefer it to the full band--the songs stand out more and the set list seems to favor my tastes more. I think David Lowery is probably one of the most under-appreciated song writers/lyricists out there. Cracker is usually pigeonholed as one hit wonder of the 90's alternative scene. Although their last 4 albums are a little hit and miss, the three or four masterpieces on each make them worth the purchase. Just wondering if there were any other Cracker fans lurking about. |

Posted - 03/12/2010 : 11:37:20 Cracker is one of those bands whose radio songs don't do them justice. I can understand being turned off by what you've heard. I've gotten crap on this very website for mocking "The Boss." All I know of him are his songs that receive radio play. like Born in the USA, Glory Days, Pink Cadillac, and Dancing in the Dark--all of which make me want to slam my nuts in a door.
Several people whose musical tastes I am usually aligned with have told me that I have to listen to Nebraska. Well, I just can't. I can't and I won't.
So I feel you Jose, I feel you.

I'd rather be anywhere or doing anything |
