Does anybody like this band? I was told to listen to them by a French friend and have really fallen in love with one song, 'New York Avec Toi'. Most of the songs I've heard are quite catchy pop/rock songs, but I can't really take them too seriously since I don't know exactly what they are singing about.

Since I don't speak French I was just wondering if any of the French speaking forum members could help me out? Are/were Téléphone a popular band? What kind of topics do they cover with their lyrics?

I'd be really greatful if anyone could help me!

I love 'Les Dunes', and I listen to a few songs from 'Dure Limite' regularly. 'Ca (C'est Vraiment Toi)' and 'Le Temps' are my favourites.

Téléphone wrote some good tunes, but most of their lyrics are terribly naive and obvious, or on the contrary totally obscure. I bought one of their albums back in my middle teenage years, I think it was "Dure Limite". Also I remember quite well a song from their last album, called "Les Dunes". It got stuck in my head for months, although I never understood its lyrics. I think their most famous song is "La Bombe humaine".

Nice verb conjugation there stu Try saying trobrianders with a French accent. Good practice.

Cheers I'll have a listen. Tu parles francais, trobrianders? I've become a bit of a francophile these past few months. I'm keen to learn the language, though I'm an absolute beginner.

I had a feeling I might be liking a band who none of the French board members like. I guess I can just continue to be blissfully ignorant of how lame they probably really are since I don't really know the background of the band.

Noir Désir is another band I've listened to, I like the song 'Un Jour En France'.

Can anybody recommend me some good French bands? I've liked Hushpuppies ever since remig's podcast cd swap thingy a couple of years ago (wow, has it been that long!?), but I was thinking specifically of bands that sing in French.
